If you are looking for a cheap place to stay with access to the city this is the place. But facilities are not so great. You have to use a common washrooms and the quality of rooms are so damn cheap. There is a lot of disturbance from other rooms and you cant have a peaceful sleep. But the staff was very good.

Somewhere inbetween a shed and a hostel... the walls were paper thin, there were roaches visiting everynight, a garden gate seperating the room from the outside, the bed was the worst ive ever slept on and it moved, there was a syringe behind the excuse for a cupboard and i woke up to a cleaner vacating the room which put me on edge. The place was in a good location but i think i could find a better place even closer to the city. Never again.

Stayed at the Manor several times before, always happy until 4 weeks ago just before I flew to Thailand. Stayed in room 47 and woke up covered in bed bug bites, had a close inspection of the bedding and found about a dozen and when killed blood came out (mine), even my face was covered and the first few days in Thailand were not so pleasant after this. I wrote an email to the Hotel alerting them to this menace but they never bothered to reply. the hotel is in a good location and affordable and if you can put up with the little bugs you should be ok.

Room Tip: Bring your personal insect spray and cover yourself with it.

To me, this was a cross between a cheap hotel and a backpackers hostel, which is shame as I booked it as a hotel. It's in a good location, in a quiet part of Fortitude Valley, but within a short walk of the Fortitude Valley train station and even the CBD and main stations are walkable. Location also means it's close to some great restaurants and bars as well as some seedier establishments. I got lost a bit on the first walk there from the station, but was thanks the local police sending me the wring way.
Reception staff was friendly and efficient, nice touch to be shown to my room rather than trying to find it. They have some printed maps of the local area and some tourism leaflets, although better to find the tourist info or backpackers places in central Brisbane to book any trips.
Bedrooms are ok, even though fairly basic, but at the price that is fine. The bed was on wheels so moved every time I sat on it, but was comfy enough. Could have done with a bedside table of some sort, as with no chair in the room I had to sit on the bed. Room had a working fridge which was good. No clothes hangers made the 'open wardrobe' useless. Appears to have free wifi, although I only got it to work once and that was for all of about 30 seconds, so that's a major minus point for me. Rooms have air conditioning, but it's very loud, so turning off when sleeping is required, but this leads to my biggest problem with this 'hotel'.. The walls are very thin, so you can hear pretty much everything in the neighbouring rooms, including air conditioning and general conversation. This became a major issue on the Saturday night with some very loud female guests waking me up at various points of the night, which I guess with the club scene nearby will be a recurring problem. It also has a large kitchen area (so more like a hostel again), which seemed ok. If I'd wanted a hostel, i'd have found one that was cheaper and quieter. Alas, I was after a hotel, and although cheap, it needs to be better than it currently is.

Thanks for this feedback, I'm sorry your stay wasn't as pleasant as you hoped. Our accommodation is in a very old building and unfortunately there are strict guidelines regarding modifying a building this old. We try to offer a product that is both value for money and budget. Perhaps next time if you are looking for a hotel you can try a 5 star!! With that said I understand we can do better, with the wireless internet etc. Thank you again for your feedback.

Good cheap place to stay close to the valley which makes it easy to access pretty much all of brisbane via train which is like a 7 minute walk down the road. Bathroom is a little bit small but still use able and well look at the price you get great value for money. Plus its close to clubs if you are looking for a night out.
