My mum is a chef and she and I are both big fans of Luke Nguyen and shared all our dishes. Beautiful setting in the old Treasury building and our server was friendly and lovely too. My mum is temporarily needing to use a wheelie walker frame but we had no trouble being shown to a table where she could park it out of the way next to where we were seated.

The silken tofu was lovely but a little too salty for our taste. The prawn dumplings were delicious as was another main prawn dish who's name escapes me... We shared a delicious chocolate dessert that was like a perfect traditional French style gateaux.

Will Definately be going back when I visit Brisbane.

A large family group of about 12 with 4 noisy kids turned up and were quite demanding and rude to the staff. One man even went straight upto the staff area where the staff prepare the guests tea and just started washing out a baby bottle and using their boiling water tap water! I could see the staff were a bit shocked but dealt with him very politely and organised the baby bottle for him straight away.

My uncle had visited the restaurant the week before and said their entire meal was fantastic off the price and was thrilled when Luke himself came out to say hi as well.

Had a great catch up with a dear friend recently over an early dinner at Fat Noodle. We tried three entrees (salt and pepper silken tofu, shanghai dumplings and rice paper rolls) - all delicious and great value. Well-suited as sharing plates with the generous serves. We were both enamoured with the tofu - it was a taste sensation!

We were both really pleased with our mains - Fat Pho signature dish for my friend (rave reviews) and seafood noodle soup for me. Serves were a very good size and we were both contentedly full after dinner. Our accompanying beers were cold and well-priced too.

Service and venue were both really good. Overall, a terrific experience and a definite for one (or probably many!) return visits.

Nice location in the historic treasury building with solicitous staff.
Food a little lacklustre for the price- toned down spice flavours.
The complimentary green tea in a beautiful pot is great.
Enjoyed the food more on a prior visit so could have been our choices.
There are other excellent asian eating options in Brisbane that cost less..

Recently has lunch with my wife and parents. What a great location inside the treasury casino. The layout and decor is visually impressive. With an open kitchen and a busy floor there was energy in the palce.
Lets start with the entrees;
BBQ Pork Bun - was very dry and lacked flavour, extremely disappointing.
Prawn Rice Paper Rolls - this is what i was expecting from a restaurant that Luke owns. Flavours were fresh and exciting, like the man himself.
Scallop and Prawn Dumplings - Average, have had better at Yum Cha for half the price
Entrees - Overall flavours ok, overpriced for the serving size.
Mains...
Singapore Laksa - This is to die for, this would easily be the best laksa i have eaten. The whole table said this was their favourite dish.
Angus Beef - The flavours were ok, however the meat was very dry, would not order again.
Mee Goreng - This took us back to Indonesia, great authentic flavours. Not hot enough for me, however because we shared plates i didn't ask for more chilli.
Stir Fried Shanghai Noodle - Another table favourite, great dish.
Mains Summary - Excellent dishes with very generous serving sizes. We struggled to eat all four dishes due to their size.
Drinks - Refreshing to see such a great variety of fresh juices, instead of the usual soft drinks. Table had lychee and lemon soda and young coconut juice. All hits.
Overall summary - Entrees were overpriced, but mains certainly made up for it with their generous serving sizes and excellent flavours. Well priced drinks and very prompt service.
Great atmosphere and very fast and friendly service, we will be visiting again......even if only for the Laksa!
