Had a one night stay and must say I am pleased it was only for the one night. There were quite a few concerns. Our room was located directly next door to the guest laundry room. Can't believe a guest laundry is located so close to rooms? That close in fact the majority of our stay was spent listening to the washing machines and door opening closing non stop. Was woken by all the noise and had trouble sleeping. The television in the room was terrible and needs replacing. It has the menu burnt into the screen so we could not watch any television, just ended up being to annoying. Spoons for the coffee had not been washed and still had food on them. The bathroom is small and no conditioner provided so bring your own. No exhaust fan in the bathroom and the window was bolted closed. Windows very dirty could definitely do with a clean. No view at all just a cement roof and vents.

We have previously stayed here and couldn't fault them but this time was just a big let down. The location is superb and perfectly positioned for all things in the CBD. I'm sure not all the rooms are like this however this experience will definitely make us reconsider staying again.

Stayed: November 2013

Dear Naza W,

I would like to thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Mercure Brisbane King George Square.

It is disappointing to us that your stay was not what you would have expected. Please let me pass on my apologies for the inconveniences caused to you during your stay with regards to the guest laundry. I’m sorry the screen on your TV was made viewing difficult by the burnt in image, we are hoping to replace them into the future. The dirty spoons with your coffee mugs is totally unacceptable of the hotel and I will ensure it is passed onto our housekeeping team for follow-up, the same with the lack of conditioner in your room.

Naza W, I’m sorry we have let you down on this occasion especially as you were revisiting the hotel. I do hope you will reconsider staying here again as this is not representative of what happens at the hotel. Again I thankyou for bringing this to my attention and look forward to welcoming you again soon.

Sincerely,
Grant Parnell
General Manager

Dear EoinDryden,

I would like to thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. It is unacceptable on our behalf that the fridge and bed were in the state that they were in. I will most certainly pass your feedback onto our Housekeeping and Food & Beverage departments for follow-up.

I hope that this has not deterred you in any way and that we have the chance to welcome you back again.

Sincerely,
Grant Parnell

Staff were lovely and helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately this building is ageing, and (despite attempts to glam it up) the rooms are still old and need re-arranging eg a TV sited on a small desk (that you could not see well from either bed in a twin room) would have been better mounted on the wall. Great location though, and 5 * staff!!

Dear Cathy,

Wow the staff will be pleased to read your kind comments about them especially that you though they were 5 star. We’re hoping into the future that we will see an upgrade to our Mercure rooms and enjoy hearing what thoughts the guest have on improvements as of course it’s the guests that need to use the rooms!

Cathy, thankyou for taking the time to tell us about your stay and we look forward to seeing you again one day.

Sincerely,
Grant Parnell
