The food here is universally good. They only do breakfast, lunch & coffee. They do all of these things well. Food is Vietnamese and Vietnamese-fusion, light, fresh and tasty. We have eaten here several times and will definitely be back. Fit out is fine, and there is always a nice breeze on the footpath seats. Coffee is always good, too.

One thing that is not perfect is the service. The owner is very attentive, as are most of the regular staff (although they can look a bit miffed if you come in close to closing). Peak times, the wheels can fall off with wait times extending to unreasonable levels and orders not dealt with in turn (it is annoying seeing whole tables come and go while you are waiting for a baguette, for example). I don't think this is a "locals preferenced" thing, I just think they get a bit stressed when busy. This is not a deal breaker, but if they warn you your order will take a while - they mean it !

My partner and I have been to Cafe O-Mai many times as we live locally. The Bahn-mi are made fresh to order and are delicious and super cheap ($6). I don't generally drink coffee, but their Vietnamese coffee is excellent - very sweet and refreshing. The spring rolls are also worth a mention. The staff are friendly and it's great to have somewhere local like this to go to.

How lucky are the residents of Annerley/Tarragindi to have this relatively new Vietnamese cafe on their doorstop! A quaint little corner with the yummiest pho soup and full range of baguettes (including bacon & egg), spring rolls, vermicelli salad to name a few. Such freshness, excellent prices and friendly staff. This will become very popular - just a shame they're not open for dinner (mind you they are there for breakfast at 6.30 except Mondays). I know I gush frequently but this one is a real winner!
