“Not bad but not eager to return”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

I took my girlfriend here for date night and it was a cosy little restaurant and the staff were attentive. We ordered a range of dishes which were hit and miss. What was good for me was the green salad and agedashi tofu. My partner enjoyed the sashimi though the fish was a little pricey for the amount that you got. We also had some fried eggplant as an entree but it wasn't cooked particularly well and didn't have much flavour.

We both ordered some Gyoza. My vegetable gyoza was tasteless and boring, I didn't finish it. The pork ones weren't that much better. Having named the restaurant after the Gyoza we'd assumed these would be the best dishes but they weren't.

As a side note, the local beer haling from Cleveland was delicious.

“Late night Japanese which delivers”
Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

I have dined here a number of times now and it does not disappoint. The menu is extensive enough to be able to try something new each time. It has a good mix of hot and cold dishes aside from the gyoza which taste delicious and are presented well. It also has a good range of sakes and beers which you do not always find at other Japanese restaurants. Staff are friendly and attentive without being obstrusive. It is not airconditioned though so can be a bit warm inside in the summer months. The kitchen is open until late which is perfect if you need to work late.

“Nice but too hot inside!”
Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

Food was nice but the restaurant doesn't have it's own bathroom and it was way too hot inside. It's nice and cozy but in a brisbane summer it just gets uncomfortably warm inside.

“Yummmmmy!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

This has become one of my favourite little spots in the city. The service is fast and attentive and the food is delicious. The weekday lunch special is great value. I love my dumplings and these are some of my favourite in Brisbane. Will be back again, and again.....

“Delicious!”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Not knowing very much about Japanese food and having had a recommendation for the Gyoga Bar we thought we must try it whilst in Brisbane.

We asked the waitress about which sake from the list we might like and she returned with the manageress and one of every bottle they had and the manageress went through them all for us, so helpful.

We shared an array of dishes and all of them were delicious, we particularly enjoyed the gyozas, and when we wanted more they had them on the table in no time at all.

A really fun evening and lovely staff who were happy to help us with the menu!
