We sat down with one of the information assistants (think it was Ana or Ara?), who basically helped us plan all our excursions up the east cost of QLD. She was so helpful, phoning for us and juggling the activities to fit with our tight schedule. Would recommend to anyone looking for a little help to decided what to do and where to go in QLD should visit here.

We have visited Brisbane several times and wanted to do something different so visited the Information centre for ideas. I sincerely hope that our experience was not the usual because we came away thinking what a waste of time our visit there had been. Even though we had said where we lived (north of Brisbane) and that we had travelled down on the train, the person "helping" us was more interested in continually telling us about the harsh sun, Brisbane being the capital of the world for skin cancers and the need for sun screen, than suggesting areas to go and things to do. When enquiring how the go-cards worked, all she could tell us was where to get one, and when asking about public transport in general, referred us to translink. I can understand that timetables etc would not have been available there, but information re the free ferries, buses etc and the public transport as a whole would have been useful, without having to go to a seperate kiosk for such general information.
