Owner description: The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is a single institution located across two adjacent river-side buildings in the Cultural Precinct at Brisbane's South Bank. QAGOMA holds a collection of historical, modern and contemporary art, and stages a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions. We are home to the Children's Art Centre which collaborates on interactive artworks with leading artists from around the world, and the Australian Cinematheque, the only dedicated cinema facility in an Australian art museum. QAGOMA operates its own retail outlets and cafes and restaurants, proceeds from which support the Gallery.

“Dissappointing”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Big areas of this were closed for new pictures and exhibition. Not worth visiting in current state. It is free however and the restaurant area is very nice.

“Brilliant for all”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

The Art galleries are a fantastic way to while a way a couple of hours. It doesn't matter what you are interested in there will be something for you to look at. I love the atmosphere of the QAG, it is so calming and is a great place really just to sit and think, or read or watch the world go by. When visiting GOMA I always take something a bit warmer as the aircon can be quite cold.

It's very worthy to take a visit here. Many masterpieces. Always have some new exhibition from other countries.

“Always a good show”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

A must see diversion on Southbank. Their basic collections are very good and they tend to have something local or with a bit of Aussie interest, as well as the big shows such as the Prada recently.

“Large and family friendly”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

Easy access being near Southbank Parklands and the Museum. Holds a wide variety of Collections, with plenty of room to enjoy them, even on a crowded day. There are many spots to just sit and reflect on the Art shown. Kids love this as the Gallery is extremely kid friendly, and have questions for kids around the Gallery to interact them. Combine this, the Museum and Science Centers next door and Southbank for a fun filled day. To view majority of the Gallery is free, however there may be special collections that cost.
