Well set out gardens, very picturesque must be quite popular as bride having photos taken when we were there. Garden filled with unusual trees and shrubs, lovely colours and flowers

There is a distinct lack of exhibits in these gardens which makes it rather dull and truthfully it is probably my least favorite city botanical gardens I have been to in Australia although one could argue that the mt cootha gardens are Brisbanes botanical gardens. Being in the city it isn't particularly peaceful either .Nothing memorable at these gardens that can't be seen if visiting roma street park or the mt cootha botanical gardens.

I haven't actually made my way to the gardens on previous trips, but stumbled upon it on one of our morning walks and was transfixed by the bagpipes being played within the gardens. What a delight to take a moment out to listen to them play waltzing matilda and other classics to an appreciative crowd.

We love to walk in these gardens which are adjacent to our 2 favourite hotels, Royal on the Park and Stamford. You can wander along the river and admire the moored yachts and go and explore the Old Government building and its gallery. There are wonderful old trees.

City Botanic Gardens is also one of our favourite places to go in Brisbane. It is a great place for a family outing picnic, great place for kids to run a round and ride their bikes while we sit and enjoy the weather at this beautiful city garden and not that far from the city centre either.
