“Terrible service”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

A couple of months ago we tried to get sunday brekky and eventually gave up after an hr of waiting.might sound trivial but with overseas guests it set us back to square one and our whole day ran an hour late. We were told that staff hadn't turned up - very sorry etc...so gave them another chance today- such a lovely setting, central location etc...anyway again terrible service. apparently let down by staff again...what is wrong with this place? The food and eventual coffee was great- but my weekend time is precious and I wont be giving them a third chance.

I ate breakfast and lunch at the street cafe, sitting outside in the well appointed outside dinning area which is surprisingly relaxing given its location on the corner of coronation drive. Street cafe menu small but contains many favourites...steak sandwich, BLT, chicken parmy...food was fresh and well presented and reasonably priced. Breakfast was excellent (with all the expected breakfast choices) the next day and starts nice an early from 6.30am. Would eat here again. Easy access for those not In the Toowong area as the regatta city cat stop is across the street.

This is a nice place and good atmosphere, but I would prefer a classic Pub to charge Pub prices, and serve 'counteries' on the menu. Feel free to dine on the 'exotic' stuff, but a Steak and Chips at Pub prices would make this place the classic pub that it is.

This was my second visit to the Regatta Hotel - we had lunch in the restaurant part of the Hotel and it was lovely. It was a very busy Sunday lunch, but the staff were efficient and friendly. The meals are reasonably expensive for what you get, but the quality is there so you don't mind paying. Look forward to our next visit.

The Regatta is a beautiful building, which has undergone a stunning refurbishment since the 2011 floods, and the river front location is fabulous. Unfortunately, when we visited, the service left a lot to be desired. On arrival, we 'waited to be seated' as instructed by the sign, but we were then told by the waitress to 'sit anywhere' and were not shown to our table. The restaurant was not busy, but we waited at our table for 15 minutes without being offered water or a menu, or even being acknowledged by staff. We noticed that two waitresses (including the one who had originally told us to find our own table) were both serving the same table in another area but neither came to us, despite our trying to catch their eye. In the end, we decided to leave, as we were getting hungry and had no confidence that we would get lunch within an hour! A shame, as the menu looked great...

The Regatta was devastated after the Brisbane floods but immediately after the owners decided to bring it back to its former glory by revamping the establishment with a heaps of money, great management, improved food, and a dedicated & skilled staff. The price is expensive but if you head there on a Wednesday night or for a Sunday session, you will have an awesome time. Dress up, bring your friends, and enjoy what the Regatta has to offer.

After our school rugby team played their last game at Tennyson for the season we parents decided to have lunch at the Regatta with the kids as a bit of a break up. So first thing I do is go to order a couple of jugs of soft drink for the kids only to be told they don't serve jugs of soft drink in fact they don't serve jugs of beer not even in the public bar. After I picked my jaw up off the ground I was then told I had to buy the 15 kids soft drink per glass. That little exercise cost me $56 and had to pick my jaw up off the ground a second time. I have travelled extensively and have never come across a pub that does not serve jugs of anything. Very un Australian. For this costly reason alone I would not return.
