We found this poor excuse for a serviced apartment on wotif. The price on wotif was higher than the price that is actually quoted on their own website - which we only discovered later. We paid $155 a night and it was the worst apartment we have stayed in. We actually ended up staying only 1 night - instead of the 3 we had booked for - even though they made us still pay for the 3 nights. It was so appalling and totally inappropriate that we decided to move and just pay the 3 nights.
The first apartment they gave us was in their 'St Tropez' apartment block - about 4 flights of stairs with 3 young kids and luggage wasn't fun. You enter into the kids bedroom and go through this to the rest of the apartment - not ideal but not a show stopper. It was extremely cramped and right on top of the train line - VERY NOISY!
We then complained that the apartment was not appropriate and not worth $155 and said we would not stay the 3 nights and they said we had to pay for the 3 nights we had booked for - even though I said we would pay for 2 and wouldn't be staying or paying for the 3 (which was according to their T's and C's enough notice).
The manager David then said he had another apartment we could look at in their 'Villa Boheme' apartment block. The actual apartment was better so we decided to take it. Once in there and settled we began to realise what it was like living on top of a train line. We had a train racing through what seemed like our lounge room every 10 minutes until midnight when they slowed down to every 20 -30 minutes and the occasional even-noisier freight train and of course traffic noise all night! Needless to say we didn't sleep.
At just before 1am other hotel patrons returned from the stadium that was near by and conversed in the foyer area which echoed right through the apartments. I felt like we were at a schoolies-week hotel.
The cutlery drawer had crumbs and other debris in it and we had to wash everything before use. The stove top/oven was about 50 years old and was not working - so how they can say they have a 'fully equipped kitchen' I don't know. The kids bedroom window - easily accessible from the bed had no lock and led to a small ledge and then a rather high drop down. So not only was this place dirty and noisy but also UNSAFE.
DO NOT STAY HERE IF CLEANLINESS, NOISE POLUTION AND SAFETY ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU. IT IS A BAD OPTION. APPALLING. DIRTY. NOISY. I could go on but won't!
