After a sporting day with 3 teenage kids, My friend 7 I checked into this Hotel. We loaded into the elevator, doors closed and immediatly the elevator broke down and stopped. We called the emergency elevator bell, was placed on hold for several minutes, so I called the Manager at the front desk from my mobile phone. The male manager told me he would call the elevator mechanic and placed me on hold with no reply. I suffered an anxiety attack in the elevator, asked the manager to call 000 Fire Brigade, and he refused several times. In the end, we called 000 from the elevator (thank god we had mobile reception), and the fire fighters and ambulance attended after 30 minutes in a very hot, cramped elevator with 3 teenage kids and 2 adults. Once settled I asked the manager why he didnt call 000 and why he placed me on hold repeatedly, he replied: they cant do anything, and I was busy at the front desk! He was very unhelpful, refused to call 000 and plain rude. On top of this, we had a third child not in the elevator that was not given any info by the manager and was not reassurred that we would be ok: The manager eventually put our child on the phone in reception, and again I asked our child to get the manager to call 000.Then we get to our 2 bedroom apartment to watch the AFL grand final and we were presented with a room that smelled of fresh vomit with a clearly wet, cleaned floor from the vomit smell. The room was unbearable to stay in overnight, we brought this to the attention of the manager, he was rude, told us we can stay or leave, we asked him to find other accommodation and help us as we had kids, he refused to help us look. He told us the room was fine and he would come up. After 1.5 hours of requesting he attend the room, he showed, said the vomit smell and wet carpet was not vomit, offered to cover it up with a towel and carpet freshener, and offered us 50% discount. At 6pm, we found other accommodation which were very helpfull, and we checked out, very dissapointed. These events were witnessed and affected 3 adults and 3 teenage kids. The manager was rude, very disrespectful, unhelpful in an emergency, unwilling to call 000 when requested for a medical condition and to top that off then refused later that night to provide me with a Incident report. I am taking this up Monday with the Owner of the Quest on Story Bridge apartments and all other governing agencies. I cant believe this male manager is even allowed to work in the guest relations industry, or with people and members of the public in general. He was just plain flat out refusing to help us in any way, said that anxiety attacks was not a medical condition, why should he of called 000?
