“Best Steak for the money!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

Pretty nice place to experience an Australian Pub. Quite a few different bars and beer gardens...not to mention the best steak for the money in Brissy.
You order at the counter, pick out your steak and pay right away. No waiting on table service and keeps the price down.
My waygu steak was cooked perfect and good slaw and tater to go with it. Washed it down with a guiness and red wine, was a nice way to enjoy the meal. Atmosphere was great too. Everyone is outside enjoying the Evening and drinks, just a good evening out.

My friends took me to this place to celebrate my birthday. It had the pub feel and the food was simply amazing. I had the steak and lobster platter and it was so yum. The queue was a bit long so you need to be patient (dont come overly hungry) but it was worth the wait. They had a good selection of meat at varying price ranges. Beer selection was also good. The outdoor seating was nice as it had a pub feel without the stuffiness of a smoky pub. Reasonably priced place.

The brekkie creek is in a good location just out out the Brisbane CBD. It got all the facilities from beer and almost any you like to drink as well as pokies and a TAB. Reasonably price for drinks however if you are wanting a steak it is a little bit expensive. With that is is a good meal and alright cook to a good standard. The only concern that I have beside the price is the time it take for the food to be served or buzzed to come and collect. This is defiantly not the place to eat if your in a hurry.

One of Brisbane's best known hotels, spreading out from its original building across into the substation structure behind it. On a fine breezy day the outdoor areas are very ideal for casual & relaxed drinking & eating.

The Staghorn Beer Garden Dining area is where you can grab a table/chairs before heading to a bar for drinks & across to another counter for your meals. There is no waiter service i.e. you bring your own drinks/meals to your table but that's typical of pub style dining.

The bar open at 10:00am & the meals counter opens at 11:30am.

The steaks are definitely the tastiest ones we had in ages (still very moist even when cooked 'well done'). Mains are typically $30-$40 AUD but its the quality of the meat that makes it worthwhile. Greatly enjoyed the beer battered prawns too. Only let down is that the side salads weren't the freshest.

If you are after a relaxed pub style meal & don't mind paying extra for best quality steak etc. give this establishment a go.

Excellent, great value for money meal. Wagyu strip loin was so tender, cooked to perfection. Service is excellent, atmosphere awesome. Never been disappointed when visiting. You get what you pay for. Quick cooking time, you do not wait more than 15 mins from ordering.

Good food & service. Excellent steaks. Not sure why others are complaint about value, I thought quality of food and location / venue was reflected in price. If you want a cheap pub meal then go to a cheap pub. .…....;........................

The Brekky Creek should be handed back to a publican with ability, not kept in the hands of a Yes Man to a corporation who knows the joint is on a downward slide for quality.
FACT- Meals are ordered at the counter..i.e. no wait staff. Customers sit on plastic chairs with plastic tables. Meals are cooked by uni students, truck drivers, former jockeys..i.e. no qualified chefs. Beef supplied by sister company which doesnt mind substituting quality for commercial gain. Meals have to be collected by customers. Steaks are rarely cooked to perfection. Napkins are thin and flimsy towlettes. PRICES RIVAL 5***** RESTAURANTS !!!! This joint is kidding. A total rip off !! It only survives off the reputation of previous great publicans which made the venue something special.
DONT TURN UP IN A GROUP OF MORE THAN FOUR MEN AND ORDER BEER. Security will automatically hawk eye you as drinking beer in a pub is criminal offence shunned by this corporation. They prefer families who drink $5 glasses of post mix soft drink.
The publican is a bossy little man and the fish rots from the head down. The staff take his lead at being equally rude and looking down at us. You can hardly blame them. I'd be laughing if people kept coming back to overpriced ordinary food, and kept copping the abuse from security. ZERO OUT OF TEN !!!

ps. Price range on the review is way out. $16-$33 ????. You cant get a steak for $16 so thats obviously another review by the establishment. Steaks start @ $33 !!!!
The beer ain't cold either. The staff must be major shareholders cos they certainly think they own the joint the way they walk around . Nice people with manners who are employed at this venue get brainwashed they are much more important than the people paying their wages here. I could go on for hours..Yeah, finally, this place reminds me of a school canteen with mean and nasty teachers watching your every move. They need a shake up !!
