We have stayed in a number of Rydges hotels in Australasia and find they are usually a good standard if a little functional. This one is perfectly located on the South Bank, next to the conference centre and close to the museums. South Bank is a good location for visitors with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops.
Our room was functionally OK but not very well located. On the first floor, at the back of the hotel, it had a small patio between it and a full height wall. The wall was either part of the exhibition centre or the side of the railway area - we couldn't see over it to tell. Either way it meant we had little natural light and could also hear the trains.
Breakfast was comprehensive and good, although the hotel was fond of putting things (bircher muesli, yogurt etc) into tiny shot glasses, and also served juice in little bottles.More
