“Nice concept of using old architecture for a new concept”

We visited the world press photo exhibition and it was nicely arranged and set up. No entrance fee.
However, slightly overcrowded when we were there, also due to the restaurants around and some wedding taking place.
Nevertheless nice views on the river action possible.

Popped into the Powerhouse whilst strolling along the river walk towards Teneriffe.

There's a very good press photographic exhibition on at present which I understand is an annual event.

Many of the pictures on show are quite graphic in content and from conflict areas across the globe.

There were several scenes from Mosul in Iraq, plus some harrowing photos of the terrorist attack on Westminster Bridge in London. The most striking photograph was that of a protestor in Venezuela ablaze during civil disturbances there.

I enjoyed the sports photography on display and particularly the series of pictures of ladies in Zanzibar learning how to swim.

Admission is free but I believe the exhibition is ending soon.

My daughter loves playing on the ‘flood’ artwork - the one next to the sign that says don’t play on the artwork. :-) . Nice atmosphere outside and good live music inside. Bar service can be a bit slow sometimes but the fantastic location on the weterfromt makes up for it. Food choice is good for families with kids.

The renovations and modernization of this building are fantastic. It incorporates lots within the one precinct. They also attract many and varied artists. We are spoilt for choice.

An interesting place to visit with many potential attractions ranging from arts to theatre and musical productions. Advisable to check the web site before arranging your visit.
