Overall we were pleased with this hotel in most aspects however the fact that the pre-authorisation debit was not pass until AFTER the account had been paid and then not credited back for several days after we had departed was a disappointment.

Of all the accor hotels in the Brisbane CBD this is my least favourite. The carparking is a nightmare
Its expensive at nearly $30 and you have to surrender your keys, plus your car is never in the same place when you return. We had a newly renovated room which was in a modern style that already looked dated...... and a little harsh and loud for a hotel room. The bathroom was beautiful but not functional, lamp shades hanging over the mirror so you couldnt see yourself and a towel rail that both of us bruised our thigh on. No bath just a shower that flooded the room when used.
On the plus side the river view was beautiful and the staff friendly. The room was clean and stock standard for a studio hotel room. For $20 more or less I would stay at the Novotel or Ibis in Brisbane they both have bigger studio rooms, cheaper carparking, great locations with the same good service and comfortable beds

Room Tip: Go to another accor hotel

Dear runawayandy

I was a little bit sad to read that you were not happy with our new look accommodation rooms but I understand that we cannot always meet everones taset in decor. I am glad that you like the look of our bathrooms and I will take on board your comments about how functional certain things are. With the carpark unfortunately there is not alot we can do in the way that it is run as it is not owned buy the hotel, howevery I will definitely forward your concerns to Secure Carpaking.

Once again I thank you for your comments.

Kind regards
Laurence Nathan

My husband and I booked this hotel to break up two sections of our honeymoon. We were given the most amazing room on the top floor, right at the end of the corridor-1407. It was exceptionally clean, with views over the river and city of Brisbane, and decorated in a modern, trendy style. The Dilmah tea and stylish glass teacups in our room were a lovely improvement on the good old white ceramic norm that most hotels offer.
The check in process was easy and the modern reception area and friendly staff were very welcoming.
When we stopped in to the restaurant for a cuppa after stowing our bags, we were surprised when we were given a plate of pastries by a staff member "to celebrate your honeymoon". It was a nice gesture which we really appreciated.
We had an issue with the drycleaning not coming back, and staff went above and beyond to resolve the issue as best they could. They truly cared about helping us and provided a level of service that really isn't seen any more. It was very surprising, and is the primary reason we will definitely return to this hotel in the future. The night manager was absolutely tireless in her efforts to assist.
Dinner at the restaurant on level 2 was delicious. My husband said the ribs were some of the best he's ever had. My spinach linguini was well presented, light and quite a good serving size. My panacotta was more like a pudding, however my husband's Semi Freddo with salted caramel was great.
We were highly impressed by the customer service we encountered at this particular Mercure. It was wonderful to be assisted by such attentive and caring staff who seem to be a great team. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: 1407 is the absolute best room of the house. Totally quiet with beautiful views of the river and Bri...

I stayed at the Mercure for one night and was very happy with the experience. The front desk staff were very helpful on check-in and gave me lots of tips on what to do and where to eat within walking distance of the hotel. All good recommendations.

I had a good sized room overlooking the hotel pool. Plenty of room to relax. Good bathroom. Comfortable bed. All clean and all fixtures in good condition.

The hotel was undergoing some renovations in the lobby area. I was told the work would be completed soon.

The buffet breakfast was a little on the pricy side but the food was all fresh and plenty of choice. Coffee shops and cafes are just around the corner from the hotel if you want a cheaper option.

When I booked with the hotel, I needed a recommendation for transport in Brisbane. Again the hotel staff were very helpful and got me set up with a great local transport company - Priority One.

Would I stay at the Mercure Brisbane again? Yes - Right Price and Right Attitude of the Staff.

Very nice hotel although being renovated, we didn't have any noise or disruption, other than figuring out where the front door was! Very clean room with all the modern amenities and recently renovated. WIFI expensive and not really reliable - great wifi 2 blocks down at the library; easy walk to the botanical gardens and historic buildings. Courteous service and even provided cold bottled water when waiting for our airport transfer. Great location only blocks from the Queen Street mall with lots of shops and restaurants and public transportation. Very nice place to stay!

Room Tip: Higher floors have less traffic noise, and our room looked over the city; rooms overlooking the rive...
