This hotel has been my favourite destination in Brisbane for many years so I wanted to share my NYE experience with family from Sydney. However ,sadly, our rooms were not as I had hoped. I understand that the hotel is being refurbished and will be wonderful again in May. I again stayed this week and our room this time was better and the staff just lovely.
Thank you so much for your feedback. It really means a lot to us to know that you have stayed with us on different occasions and it is lovely to read that we have been your favourite destination in Brisbane for years .
It is a very exciting time for the hotel with our rooms being refurbished and we will have the first group of rooms back online by February. Please let us know the next time you travel to Brisbane so we can ensure you get to experience our new room type and can look after you. My email address is Mark.Mewburn@accor.com.
Thanks again for taking the time to review us and we look forward to welcoming you back to the newly refurbished Mercure Brisbane.

Good staff excellent service friendly and helpful close to everything lovely views over river difficulty with 2 mecures in one area one couple booked wrong hotel and were unable to change because hotel full once renovations are done rooms and bathrooms will be improved
Very spacious and clean room-was not disappointed! Bathroom was a good size and clean. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Hotel was a short walk to the city centre and shops and restaurants. Beware of very expensive parking charges!
The mercure seems functional and the location is in theory good and central.
However the decor is definitely tired at this point. Things are looking quite worn apart from in the lobby. The swimming pool is again functional but nothing very pleasant, having little in the way of amenities or view.
We had a nightmare getting to this hotel in our car, because it is entirely surrounded by one way streets, so there's only one correct way to approach it, and if you go wrong you can easily end up on the motorway (Apple maps didn't help, as it doesn't show the one-way streets at all)
Parking is also a bit tricky as it is double bay (so you have to leave your keys with reception in case they need to move your car), and used as a public carpark as well, and has no lift access.
