My wife and I stayed at the Ibis in Brisbane on friday 25 April 2008. We were only in town for 1 night for a football game at Suncorp stadium. Being an accor member we could book a room for $99 a night ($129 was normal rate that night). We knew we would only be in the room for limited time as we were out for the football and after game drinks. The hotel was perfect for that purpose. The room was clean and modern with a very big bathroom. We struck out on a view being on the fifth floor looking at an alley but someone has to get them. The room was on the small side of standard but totally adequate and everything was in working order. Ibis is the budget brand of accor's business hotels and so if you take the budget option you can't expect the luxury of the sofitel. For half the price we can't knock it all. If only in town for 1 night it is great value. If staying a week probably spring for a bigger higher standard option. Parking was next door at the mecure but for those who have complained about that in prior reviews, the carpark is still only 75m from the hotel, and really is no problem at all. All in all a good 1 night stay.

We were on 15th floor with view of Brisbane River and Southbank area. Room was quiet, beds/linens comfortable, desk with view out window, decent sized bath with tub/shower, refrigerator in room. Front desk staff, house keeping and waiters all helpful and friendly. ATM/7Eleven convenience store very close, just across intersection of George and Turbot(hotel is on Turbot). Easy walk to Roma Street train/bus/transit station, Ann St and George St bus stops, Central train station, Queen St Mall, Treasury Casino, North Quay(pronounced "key" where one can catch the city river ferries and city river catamarans...highly recommend) and bridge across river to Southbank area and all it has to offer if you want to walk vs taking the ferry/cat.

As another review noted, the two blocks closest to the hotel are under going highrise construction, so shops/eateries in immediate area just a tiny slim until you get closer to Queen St. Not an issue, just a heads up. We/I walked the area with no issues/worries though I didn't by myself after about 9pm or so just out of USA/female caution.

All in all, good stay. Only down-side was bathroom could have smelled better though we couldn't see anything obviously in need of cleaning.

Over Easter I stayed at the Ibis Brisbane and would never go back again. Having worked in the Hotel industry for the last 5 years I was shocked how unhelpful and unpleasant the Front staff, Restaurant and cleaning staff were. Everything seem to be such a hassle for them, it was clear them couldn't not be bother with us. I stayed with my family here and there was the three of us in a room, when we arrived there was not enough towels and glasses for us, after ringing down to reception we got everything we needed. However the following day when our rooms were serviced, all the extras things eg towels were taken. We then proceeded to ring reception again only to be snapped at, and told we already got extra yesterday and did not believe the cleaning staff would take extra products away. We also went down for breakfast and even though it was included in our room rate we only ate there once as the service and food was terrible. In addition many of the buffet items were empty and trying to get things refreshed was practically impossible.
Throughout the room there is a place cards saying please join us for Happy Hour so we went to the bar no where were there a sign to say this was only on House wines and beer, even when we were talking about it in front of the bar staff we weren't told it was only there items. It was only when we checked out we realize this fact. On the day before we were to check out we accidentally left one of the room key in the place to turn on the air condition, when we arrived back this was also gone and reception then said we had lost it.
We had a few issue with our actual reservation and although something went wrong at the travel agents end the front staff where down right rude. Being a Hotel Reception I have dealt with many of these situation and always have compassion for client in front of me, however this clearly not the case at the Ibis, they are there to make money and don't care about those guests staying there.
I will never say at this hotel again and have advised my travel agent not to send anyone there in the future.

This hotel is well located, right by the river, within walking distance to a lot of historical buildings like the Town Hall and the Treasury building, also close to Queens St. Mall, and the Victoria Bridge which takes you to South Bank. The room we got was a bit small and narrow for a family of 4, but it was clean and the furniture was modern. The bathroom smelled like urine though, and the sink was cracked. Other than that it was a pleasant stay and the room was very quiet.

one night stay at Ibis Brisbane. Central location about 500m from Roma Street Station where long distance trains depart from and handy to Queen Street Mall. We stayed there because it was close to Qld Cultural centre on southbank.

Rooms are ibis, fairly small but reasonable in size, furnishings spartan, however spotlessly clean. Bed comfortable but only one extra pillow so if two of you want another you'll fight over it. Our room had an oddly small window which limited the natural light, but the view was only of other buildings. If you want a great view, spend more.

Parking is under the Mercure next door, and there is an interconnection between the two hotels; though the car park is very difficult to negotiate if you have a large car.

We were quite satisfied as we paid an advantage plus member rate which was very reasonable for a city with a shortage of midweek hotel rooms and correspondingly inflated prices, and the hotel is convenient. Some websites claim the hotel is four stars, which it ain't by any means.

The Ibis Brisbane is much better than previous Ibis Hotels I have stayed at in other states. The decor was great, and the room and bathroom was exceptionally clean.

As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms are spacious. It was also very quiet.

The bed was large and confortable.

Although it would be much better if more than one power point was available. Other than that, it was great - the staff were friendly and very efficient too.

The Ibis Hotel is right in the heart of Brisbane CBD. The rooms are modern and large and very clean. The hotel staff are friendly and the restuarant on the 1st floor has nice, affordable meals. I would definitely stay here again.
