Really like this hotel for a short stop. Only one complaint - my food was almost inedible. SAVING GRACE - even though I didn't ask fora refund (too tired to bother compaining) when I mentioned it on checking out I was offered a refund. No questions asked. Great Service

I've stayed here several times over the last 12 months and have tried out various floors and room styles.

My biggest complaint would be the carpet in each room. Mysterious stains tend to be common. View from hotel is generally limited, but some rooms do have partial river views.

Housekeeping is efficient and does a good job (even though they have once ignored "Do not disturb" and knocked on the door at 10am expecting that I had already checked-out! ).

TVs are a little small and stations limited.

It's a decent basic hotel in Brisbane. I don't think it's worth some of the rates I see listed for the hotel, but if you know the IBIS brand well - then it does meet the requirements.

The staff on reception tend to be on the ball and very friendly!

Brisbane IBIS rooms are neat, reasonably modern and have a great, big bathroom with a bath. The bath would be really handy in a family room, but fairly irrelevant in a hotel meant for corporate and government guests. There is no parking in the hotel ( and barely any room to park while checking in). Parking is available a few doors down in the Mecure Hotel at $25 a night, but this could barely be called a caagrpark as you have to maneuver in to the tiny carparks, leave your keys with the attendant and try not to scratch the paint off the car next to you (oh... and you also have to walk up the hill to Ibis with your luggage to the Ibis). There is a nice view to the office blocks on George Street, but no balcony & reasonably small rooms, so it has the feeling that you are locked in a rat trap. It seems as if Ibis have renovated an office block to be a hotel. The only facilities are a bar and bistro which dont even seem to offer breakfast...You are in the middle of Brisbane, so you would wonder why you would bother. There is not even a very basic gym or any other service that travellers would normally expect to find in a modern hotel. Even the room service is "grab & go" which translates to "pick up from reception". There are only hard backed desk chairs in the room, which is ok, because half of the tv stations dont get very good reception anyway. On the positive side, the staff are efficient and the room is neat, clean & reasonably modern (though there is an ongoing smell of mustiness). I would recommend Ibis Brisbane as a very unexciting, but sufficient stay in the Brisbane CBD.
