I arrived at this hotel mid afternoon and was greated by a lovely doorman.... it went downhill from there!
The woman on reception needed a credit card on file, as this was a trip for business our travel cooridinator had placed a chargeback authority on file. However this was apparently insufficient, even though the room was prepaid in full! I wasted a good half hour trying to solve the problem for them then had to ring my own office because they seemed incapable of thinking out of the box.
As I needed a place to change I asked if i could borrow my room key then return it until the issue had been resolved, this was denied, I ended up finding a ladies bathroom to do so. Infuriated i headed off to work, returning at 11:15 pm to find the front door locked (only to be opened by a ROOM key) so I had to bother a work collegue to let me me.
I shall NOT be staying here again which is a real shame because it is a lovely heritage listed hotel with beautiful high ceilings and lovely spacious suites.More
