“Everything is free!”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

I have lived in Brisbane for four years, but only recently made it here.
I had no idea that the central tour, tower and museum were all free!

The bell tower was once the highest point in Brisbane and has a manual elevator.
The details about the workings of the clock are interesting.
The view is amazing.
The people are friendly and helpful.
And the restored organ in the main room is amazing!

I'm taking my friends here again next week. :)

“Wonderful old world”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Personally it is just sensational to see the old ceilings inside the main entrance. The outside has some wonderful statues and beautiful columns.

“A must see building in Brisbane”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

We booked in for a tour of the historic City Hall building and were most impressed with history of the building and the beautiful architecture of the period. Included a lift ride up the Bell tower for breathtaking views of the city.

“First class free lunchtime concerts in the grand auditorium amazing gift”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

For decades (since I was in my twenties. I'm now 55), I've come to the free lunchtime Tuesday City Hall concerts. In the grandeur of the domed auditorium and occasionally in the beautiful Ithaca Auditorium, all types of music from all eras and all parts of the world have been presented at no charge, by world class performers. On rainy Tuesdays, I would slip into the beautiful old City Hall and escape into everything from Bach to Beatles and beyond! In recent times, I've danced to many wonderful acts, sung along with some and thoroughly enjoyed all. Some of the ushers are so friendly they give you a little arm hug and smile on arrival. Disabled people are so well catered for, with options to be dropped off at the front door and a flat walk of about 20 metres to the concert hall. After the concert, I love to explore different parts of the hall like the museum, or the grand piano which I have often sat down and played. As long as you can play reasonably well, the city lets people play their piano (the one on first level) What other city in the world provides all that? Brisbane is a great city.

“Brisbane's Best Building”
Reviewed July 9, 2014

Maybe I'm biased, but the Brisbane City Hall is my most favourite building in the city, particularly since its renovation. That has been beautifully done bringing all back to the original appearance, but using contemporary building products, structural techniques and technology.

One day I may even go up the clock tower, but I think it's too late. Where once it was a highest building from which you could see all round the city and out to the suburbs, now all you see are tall buildings in the city centre.
