I think this is a must see! It has recently been reopened after a huge restoration, and it looks like the money was really well spent. It's a very impressive building and the main auditorium is beautiful. Take a tour as the guides are well informed and the tour is full of very interesting information and tidbits about the building and Brisbane.

I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw on this tour and the great information and stories that the tour guide provided made this a wonderful experience.

From the wooden ticket booths to the colourful LED light dome, the stained glass and gold leaf panels, the old stone road and the Soldiers' Wall...all were refurbished well.

The tours are free and you get 2 tickets for 2 tours ( 3/4 hour for the Brisbane City Hall Tour and about 15 mins for the Clocktower tour ). One from the foyer and the one for the clocktower from MOB ( Museum of Brisbane ) on the 3rd Floor. MOB had a great exhibition on Expo'88 and The Brisbane River over the ages....very interesting and it brought back memories.

Go and see it !

If you nave a spare hour whilst in Brisbane , take a free guided tour of this beautifully restored city icon. It is the civic seat of Brisbane and home to The Lord Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Situated in King George Square , BCH was officially opened in 1930. City Hall is a fine example of classic architecture encompassing beautifully grained Queensland timbers and marble from Italy , Belgium and Australia. Take in the main foyer with its grand Italian marble staircase. Then move into the main auditorium which houses the magnificent Father Henry Willis Organ. City Hall has 3 levels, all serviced by lifts. Don't forget the Clock Tower, the Copper Dome and the Museum of Brisbane on this tour or future visits.

What a beautiful building, the displays are fantastic. The whole layout and feel of the museum is brilliant, can't believe its free! The EXPO 88 exhibit is amazing, had a great time reliving the memories. We did a clock tower tour, it was totally worth it even my 3 & 6 yr old were amazed. It appears fairly popular so go early in the day to ensure you get tickets. Again it is all free, you can't go wrong.

Beautifully renovated & great museum, with great memories from Expo 88. A visit to the clock tower is worth it & all free of charge.
