“There is also a Planetarium - worth checking out!”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

I would these Botanical Gardens at the base of Mt Cootha. There is a diverse array of plants - cactus , giant lilies in the dome etc.
This is a nice day out. You may see the lizards - water dragons by the lake and there is also a wide variety of bird life on most days.

“Well doen staff”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Although there has been little rain in December, the gardens were in good condition. Take your time and enjoy the surrounds and sounds. Grab a coffee and the mobile near the gate and sit and relax. Watch the water dragons near the pools and the big eels annoying the ducks. It's an oasis from the nearby city sights.

Not bad for Brisbane, many cool plants, a mixed array of many species. Lots of cool tracks winding around the place. Pity the outdoor stage doesn't get used much.

“Nice collection of tropical plants”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

A short bus or car ride from the city, this botanical garden is well worth a visit. Being a farmer, nice to see cinnamon and fig trees. The labelling of the trees and plants was most useful. The small Japanese garden was laid out well and properly maintained, as was the whole garden. The shady trees were a relief in warm Brisbane days for a relaxing and enjoyable walk
