Lovely casual restaurant, excellent value for money, interesting food with a good mix of regular items and new specials to meet our tastes. This is where we head when want to eat out on Friday night but it's a last minute decision- haven't thought to book anywhere and don't want to get dressed up!
Difficult to pigeon hole the menu but definite Asian, European influences and seafood is a specialty. No matter what dish always fresh ingredients simply and superbly cooked. Large number of gluten and dairy free options also.
Location is tucked away a little from busy Milton and Baroona Rds, but still most tables are outside and maybe not the greatest ambiance if you're after that (unless watching the TAB punters is your thing). But the rest of the package completely makes up for it, especially Max's attentive table service & reliable good food.
Getting sad that we almost need to start booking as the secret of this great little bistro is spreading!

We were regulars at Food and Soul, the sister restaurant of Soul, (now closed about a month ago). Our first visit to Soul Bistro and we were not disappointed. The Style of food was similar to F+S, mainly Asian, but the menu was a bit more limited. Excellent fish, though the chicken and prawn gumbo could probably been a bit more spicey. Very good value. We will be back.

We had a family Sunday lunch for 4 adults and were very pleasantly surprised with the modern, simple fresh asian inspired cuisine at such great value. We all ordered separately, some from the lunchtime specials and some from the main menu. we all shared satay duck spring rolls, cummin and chilli roasted prawns, slow cooked meatballs and chicken and prawn hokkien noodles which were all served with excellent service. We agree with the previous reviewers- this is a great place to visit for tasty asian food at amazing prices.

Yes, we're regulars & this our 'local', I guess. Generally, fast, efficient service and consistently great food. I'd describe most dishes as Asian / Anglo / European fusion or, contemporary 'takes' on classics. Exceptionally good value especially breakfasts & lunch specials which are surprisingly generous for the price! Lunch specials are $10 & $12 with drink Mon to Fri or $14 on weekend.. BYO with bottlo 20m away (check open hrs), There is also a gravel car park at back accessible from Milton Rd inbound.

There's no better place for lunch than Soul Bistro if you value really fresh, unique food, friendly service and inexpensive prices. In fact I don't know how the chef, Terry, does it. He offers daily specials of $10 and $12 that INCLUDE YOUR COFFEE! None of it's boring stuff either. It's Modern Australian/ Asian influenced food. A lot of it is laced with fresh herbs and you know that those are sourced locally because they're grown in pots right there outside the bistro! For the sweet-toothed customers there's a small section of divine deserts. The crepe served with vanilla ice cream and burnt orange source is a winner. Once you've tried it, you'll be back.
