It couldn't have been a lovelier night. We'd bought a voucher to try out De Vietnamien. We would never have found it otherwise. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress introduced herself by name and chatted away happily telling us all about the restaurant and their aims. Her name is Jenny and she's Vietnamese working her way through her training as a nurse. She was bright and lovely and helped us with the menu. My entrée was the truffles which were so tasty and wrapped in a wonton wrapper, looking very Asian but tasting very French! There was a lovely wine included and a surprise citrus sorbet before the main course. Everything was perfect. We went early arriving at 6pm. At 7.30 the restaurant was was getting very busy, so people have already started to discover this wonderful new place. The decor was a big surprise too. It's lovely. Soft music played, there's an elegant bar and a semi outdoor area surrounded by soft flowing curtains. We gave Jenny the biggest tip we've ever given, because she was so lovely and we had such a great time. Highly recommended... but try and go early for the very relaxed pampering. Dianne. p.s. I was so impressed I asked for their business card, so I have their phone number.
