“Must try the duck dumplings... oh and a few shots of sake!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

Came here last weekend with a close friend for lunch. We went to the pub, then came back 5hrs later. I think that probably says it all. Very traditional Japanese style digs, nice interior style and exposed kitchen. The food is good but you are paying 30% more than similar offerings at other places in the immediate vicinity. Go on a friday or saturday night and order shots of sake- it is a fun little ritual where 3 staff will come out, chanting, until you take your shot.

“Go Now!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

OMG i love this place & so does everyone i know. I love that you are given a buzzer & can head off for a pre-dinner drink if theres no tables available. But having said that i would still be happy to line up its so worth the wait. I love everything the cutesy staff, the food, the "sake", the atmosphere, the noise, the loo. I love it all!!!
I just happen to be & have noisy friends so Harajuku is a perfect venue for our get togethers.
And we will be going back!

“Cheap and cheerful, go early to enjoy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

Obviously a very popular dumpling joint judging by the queue of people wanting tables (we came early just after 6 and got a table easily, later on they were taking down mobile numbers from those waiting and advising them to go for a drink first). My daughter loves this place and has promised to take me when i come to Brisbane to visit her. I am not surprised. The food is very tasty and very affordable. 5 pieces of delicious pork dumplings for $8.00 (same for chicken and duck dumplings), very filling! Just dip in the sauce that you mix yourself - 2 parts soy, 1 part rice vinegar + chillies to taste, all provided on the table - yummo! But the winning dish of the night was the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly kakuni ($13, four pieces of marinated pork belly in a special sauce, oh my!). With big glasses of icy cold kirin ($8) to wash it all down, we had an excellent meal out.
Oh and you must check out their toilet - the japanese designed toilet bowl and console is an experience in itself, you'd want one in your own house! Just one negative in this place: gruesome music at full volume, really, not every one is into jazz...

“Noisy, rubbery gyoza and overpriced”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

This place gets crowded and terribly noisy. The gyoza were definitely not Japanese, and were rubbery and overpriced.
We followed their staff down the road where they made a heap of noise emptying their pile of beer bottles, much to the annoyance of the local residents. We weren't impressed.
