After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to dining here.
We went on Friday night for the Deer Duck set menu. The ambience & setting is wonderful, the service friendly & attentive. 1st course of the shared platter was nice, nothing spectacular but quite nice. Onto the mains, my Wagyu strip was cooked to perfection & delicious. My partners main of the Rabbit penne however, was rather bland & swimming in olive oil. Edible but not all that enjoyable. For the next course of cheeses, I can only imagine that the wheels had fallen off in the kitchen as, after 40 minutes, we had to chase them up. Better than the table next to us who chased up their mains, only to be told that the kitchen had lost their order. Again, the wait staff were wonderful, following up on our meals & the table next to us. Our cheese platter was fine. Again, nothing special. A couple of wedges of cheese, some dried fruit & a long crisp wafer. Desserts were a mixed bag. The decontructed cheesecake was disappointing but the tiramisu was fabulous. For the price, I expected something wonderful. What we got was a nice enough meal but nothing worth returning for.
