Description: A place where the old world of beautiful french chairs, lamps and gold glamour is paired with an eclectic music ambience, all turned upside down by amazing modern dishes or a stylish pasta or even risotto. Well-priced with plenty of personality.

4 of us went to Deer Duck Bistro on the 4th February 2012.
It is an older shop, and the decor is nothing fancy, but it has a nice feel.

The food was superb.

The entree's were on the small side, but the flavours were all there. The main course was average size, and was just stunning.

Pork belly was ordered by 2 of us, and it was devoured with relish.
The steak was cooked as requested, and melted in your mouth.
Booked out in advance, but worth the wait.

Went with friends on a very steamy night in Brisbane.
Love the décor - like eating in a dining room in a French home.
Food in general good to excellent.
Air-conditioner above our table malfunctioning. When off it was unbearably sweaty. When on it was ok until streams of water started falling on us.
In general a very entertaining meal. Staff attitude excellent.

Well what can I say....where can you go these days and have 3 courses for $65 .And bring your own wine. They do charge $10 a bottle. But really thats well worth it ,especially when they provide such beautiful glassware.NOW the food was AMAZING, the Service really great considering how busy they get.
Love the decor.
The Starter Platter Had duck and pork terrine, duck parfait, octypus, chorizo, sweet pea puree, different breads,pickles,olives...awesome .Main I had Venison wow my husband had beef wow wow.

The weekend set menu is extremely great value. They probably could charge more.
We were shown the upstairs function room which blew us away.
Think i might have my 40th there this year.

Thanks DEER DUCK!!!

Very disappointing considering all the positive reviews. We were really excited to try out this restaurant but left with a bland flavour in the mouth.

Dined on a sat night, booking wasn't received but we were able to be squeezed in. Lack of communication and a bad start to the night. Entree share platter didn't have anything too exciting-they could have brought flavours out more, only highlight was pumpkin purée, the terrine and duck patty were bland. Venison was cooked well and a good sized portion but again, lacking in flavours. You could hardly taste the betroot sauce. Desert menu was a bit confusing, ended up with chocolate which was on the small side and didn't have the rich chocolate flavours I was expecting.

I was hoping this place would live up to expections but sadly I wont be back. Not worth the $65/head.

We had booked online (don't recommend doing this as they are having difficulty with the online booking system) and the reservation hadn't registered, however it was a Tuesday night and not too busy so got a table for two at the front part of the restaurant. The decor made the restaurant feel nice and cozy, the music was soft and fitted perfectly with the atmosphere (nora jones) and the wait staff really attentive and friendly.

We had 3 courses- spanner crab risotto and scallops which were lovely, light and very well presented. Mains were wagyu beef and kingfish- equally as delicious followed by dessert- textures of chocolate and strawberry panacotta. The chocolate was very rich but I'm a sweet tooth so enjoyed it a lot! We didn't BYO so just opted for chilled tap water which was always topped up, which was great.

Price wise it was a bit exxy ($160 for both of us)- but for a special night out it's well worth it- the food and service was fantastic. We went mid week which was probably a good idea as they were less busy than they would be on a weekend (though it was still quite full as the place is pretty small!) so food came to the table in perfect timing and was fresh from the kitchen.

A great night!
