Description: This is a newly opened restaurant. Last night was our first time at Wagaya, and we loved it. Good food, reasonable prices, and fun using a touch screen to order everything. Food and drink arrived within minutes of ordering. You order and eat at your own pace. Lots of options too if you don't like Japanese food. It is rated 92% on Urbanspoon

It’s my new regular. The service is quick and the food is great! I love the seating, you don’t have to worry about anyone else in the restaurant. I will be back again and again.

“Diverse Japanese menu in trendy setting”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

I went here with a large group of people on a Saturday night, and had an excellent experience. Each dining booth is tucked away which allows for a very private setting, something hard to come by in a busy restaurant. The best novelty is the touch screen menu; makes ordering for a large group very easy. Food came out incredibly fast after ordering it as did the drinks. Very nice food, diverse menu with a bunch of unusual dishes to try which is half the fun. Cool drinks menu with local and imported beers, cocktails, and of course sake amongst others. Good pricing on the meals and friendly staff. Absolutely recommend trying this place and would happily head there again.

“Fun and tasty”
Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

Interesting and fun place to have Japanese. The food is good quality and plenty of variety. Some is very good value such as bento boxes at lunchtime.
There is a nice contemporary feel to the decor.
The kids really love it specially because the food and drink orders are taken by using a touchscreen in your booth- lots of fun for everyone.

“Great all-round Japanese food”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

I've been to Wagaya a few times, once in Sydney and then twice in Brisbane. I've always liked their food and the range of tasty Japanese food they have on offer. Hence, you'll get the chance to try some unfamiliar but excellent Japanese treats such as the Ox Tongue Nikomi or Cold Chicken Ramen, both deliciously uncommon.

The grilled dishes (kushiyaki-style skewered meats) are a highlight, the ox tongue and wagyu are both tender and juicy. The pork is especially delicious with its miso basting.

Of course, what you can't go past is the touch-screen ordering system, the trick is not to get over-excited and order and order and order more food because you'll just break your bank pretty quickly. The food is still delivery by human waiters, and I found them to be friendly and helpful (giving us an extra sparkler to put on a birthday cake, helping us take photos, etc).

My only negative for Wagaya is I guess the serving size and pricing. It's not terribly expensive, but I would like to see more on the plate for the amount of money I'm shelling out.
