Nice cool oasis on a hotel Brisbane evening before seeing the mighty Melbourne Victory in action.

After the game, the aircon is. Blessing as is the selection of beers to celebrate.

The Caxton Hotel is perfect if you are heading to Suncorp Stadium. They have big screens so you can watch other sport while you eat/drink/wait. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food is average, but good value for money and fine for pre sporting event fare.

The Caxton is suprising in that it is a footy hotel with your typical bogan feel, somehow managing to have a really good restaurant.

I'm a regular at the restaurant, visiting about once a month. The staff are always friendly, and the food really is awesome! They specialise in steaks, but having tried some of the other meals on their menu, I can say the rest of the menu is actually pretty good too!

Service can be a little slow at times when it is really busy, but the staff always do their best and generally it's pretty good. Night life here is a bit on the dodge side- drunken brisbane bogans singing along to rock anthems mixed with eighty's hits.

Ok lets start by saying I'm a massive food lover, live and breath food. I know whats worth the price of a good meal. We recently had dinner in the resturant ,looking around at what other customers odered the meals looked big and filling but I waasn t that hungry for the big steaks .But wanted seafood, So I oderedthe calamari (main) $28 expecting this to be served with chip and salad ...meal came out with just calamari on a bed of salad..well did my expectations drop..sorry but for the price as a main this is unexceptable!! So I had to order an extra bowl of chips..disapointing Caxton..Just saying I went to Wellinton Point Hotel (Hogans) for lunch 3 days earlier and ordered the lunch lasagne for $15 and it was HUGE ! thanks wello !

If you're a local, then the Caxton is where you want to go on a Monday night, as it's half price mains for locals on a Monday.

We regularly go, the food is really really good, and at half price pretty hard to beat price wise. Service can be a bit hit and miss, as staff can be a bit thin on the ground at times. However, if you don't mind relaxing while you wait for your meals, and can handle going to the bar yourself, this is place to be on a Monday!
