Review of Les Amis

Les Amis
Ranked #2,921 of 4,263 Restaurants in Brisbane
Cuisines: French
Description: Delightful French style restaurant. Cosy ambience in the evening, but bustling for lunch and breakfast. We celebrated our anniversary there last Friday 24th June. Excellent serice from a french speaking waiter although it was a very quiet evening. Excellent produce used evident. Attention to detail. Also good quality wine last. We had the Buffalo Mozarella, Tomato and Basil. Ingredients were obviuosly very fresh with fabulous flavour. The chicken and fish dises were of the same quality. We shared a simple side of Mushrooms which were subtly flavoured with garlic. We were so comfortable and our 9 yo daughter was also treated very well, that we really didn't want to leave. We will be back, perhaps for lunch as the lunch specials board looked very tempting as well.

“Decent place to eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2011

We went to Les Amis for my birthday and it was fairly nice. They have a good deal mid week (2 courses & glass of house wine for $40).

For entree we had the duck and foie Gras terrine and the confit pork rillette. Both were tasty and really enjoyed them. Mains we had the confit duck and pork loin. Simple meals, don't expect complex sauces, but still enjoyable. Thought the pork was slightly over cooked. Had a chocolate fondant for dessert. Very yummy flavors (just what I remember in Paris), but a teeny runny.

Atmosphere is noisy and I had trouble hearing our friendly waiter, but recognize there was a big table of 20 something's who had no idea how noisy they were.

Recommend for a nice non pretentious dinner out.

I would recommend this place
