“Great Location”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

I've probably been here about 4 times in the last year. If you like good sized German meals you'll be happy here. The schnitzels are great as is the sausages. If you like a German beer then you'll be very happy - great range.

If you can get a table outside overlooking the river with view to the Storey Bridge then I would ... just a great outlook.

And the waitresses aren't bad either !!

“Work Christmas party”
Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

Group of friends went for a dinner and drinks and all I can say is wonderful. Views are exceptional especially if you have a outside table. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.

Food and drinks and ok prices certainly not cheap. Must try schnapps as the fine out in a fancy way and love it.

I've been coming quite regularly and would recommend anyone to go and visit.

“Great beer”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

I recently checked out the Bavarian as part of a mosey around Eagle St Pier. They're beer selection is awesome, staff were friendly and efficient. Good views to be had if you can bag yourself a table on the edge.

“Disappointing food”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

I went to Bavarian Bier Cafe in December for a meal with a group of colleagues. Most of my colleagues went for the Bavarian platter while I decided to go for a full pork knuckle.

My meal came out as an enormous serve and it looked spectacular. Unfortunately, it did not taste anywhere near as good as it promised. The knuckle had obviously been precooked as it was very dry in parts and the crackling, while looking fantastic, was simply way too salty. It was salty to the point of being inedible.

I should point out that those who ordered the Bavarian platter were impressed with their meal. Service was friendly and very attentive.

“Amazing Salt and Pepper Squid”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

I stumbled across the Bavarian Bier Café on my first afternoon in Brisbane frazzled after a long, terrible flight. Desperately in need of a cold beer and a feed, this place did not disappoint. Looking out over the river, eating “melt in your mouth” perfectly cooked salt and pepper squid with a cold pint of Franziskaner I soon forgot about the day’s earlier troubles!

With the atmosphere relaxed and the staff friendly, I returned three times during my stay in Brisbane. I say it is the salt and pepper squid that keeps luring me back; those who know me a little better would probably say it has something to do with the substantial beers on offer.

If you fancy something a little different, I can’t fault the Bloody Marys, very fine indeed!
