“delish food and gracious service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Green Papaya. The mix of Thai and Balinese dishes is enticing and as always the service was warm, gracious and helpful. We also like the pleasant uncluttered and elegant design and ambience. We appreciated the sense of space and privacy. It's so good to be able to converse without being drowned out by others. The beef rendang was outstanding.

“Just brilliant thai food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

OK - a confession ... it's a local. On the odd night that cooking is off the agenda, a quick bite at the Green Papaya is a beaut option. The food is excellent, especially the steamed snapper, the island duck curry and chicken red curry. Pretty reasonable prices, and very welcoming. There is a big bottle shop over the road to add some variety to the in-house wine list. Just a very easy, no fuss, comfortable dinner place with excellent food ! Parking no trouble in the side streets.

“Excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

After a week of seafood and steak in Australia we decided to branch out and try something different.

This was a short drive from where we were staying and it looked good as it was not just Thai food. After a few wrong turns we found it not far from the Gabba. It doesn't look much from the outside but when we went in it was full other than the table waiting for us. The table we sat on was really a table for 2 so we felt a little cramped with 4 on the table.

We were quickly poured some water and given out menus. The restaurant itself is not lavishly decorated and felt a little ordinary. We quickly ordered from a nice menu which had both Thai and Balinese dishes. We went for the mixed starters for the 4 of us - included fishcakes, spring rolls, papaya salad etc with the matching dipping sauces. All were tasty and the fishcakes were especially flavoursome.

The mains arrived almost immediately - I had a spicy soft shelled crab dish with vegetables and jasmine rice - good quantity of crab and tasted great. My wife had the Penang king prawns which had a lovely sauce and 4 good sized prawns. My son and daughter both had the steamed snapper which other looked and tasted great.

Really enjoyed the food and the excellent service throughout.

“Great night out with Friends”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

About 16 of us descended upon this unsuspecting restaurant, wine in hand,on a Friday night and had a great time. The food was interesting and very nice, the service was excellent and the waitresses tolerated our ever increasing noise levels! Good fun!
