my firm sent me on a training course and booked me into this hotel, otherwise I would never have known about it. upon arrival the lobby was lovely and modern. room was very large and bathroom was also large, but, lack of hanging space for your towels near the shower for when you exit. the rooms were clean, just little things, like they had two cups and saucers but only one spoon, the bedside table lamps were dusty.....these two things are not a huge deal. we had room service most mornings which was HUGE and hot, again small things missing from tray each day, like the bread plate for my toast, the lack salt and pepper again the bread plate wasn't a big deal but salt and pepper was a bit of a nuisance. when we did go downstairs for breakfast it was all very nice but not a big selection.

the evening meals were wonderful and tasty. Monday and Tuesday nights were very busy nights in the restaurant and drink service was very slow if not non-existent and we had to go to the bar ourselves which I think is annoying when wanting to enjoy conversation at your table.

when we rang for extra towels etc. room service was very prompt.

apart from these things, I would return to this hotel if the case arises.

We stayed in the place during the test at the Gabba and were really impressed! 10 minute cab from town or the airport. The rooms were great size, really modern and quiet. The restaurant downstairs had awesome food and friendly service. Huge bar area and outdoor beer garden. Definitely recommend this place!

I recently had dinner at the Colmslie Hotel and have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. It was a spur of the moment decision with work colleagues with one of their wives and two young boys. The pub is huge with an equally huge outdoor area where you can sit with families and eat. You can sit inside in the restaurant or order your meals at the main bar and sit outside. There is a good selection on the menu and all reasonably priced. I had the rack of lamb - very nice and would recommend. Prices are on par with other pubs/restaurants in the area. Meals were served without much delay.

We dined as a family of 6 adults on Sunday 31 March 2013. Overall a nice meal though Chicken Riviera was a bit of a disappointment with not a lot of chicken or flavour, steaks were enjoyed as was the Peking Duck Breast though duck would not be filling for a large eater and the sauce was very sweet and tasted as though it had come from a packet and not homemade as expected, the potato/sweet potato bake was dry and the meal needed more colour. Desert was disappointing as mango macadamia cheese cake was not available which a few of us were looking forward to, we were not advised of this at the start if the meal which is usually the case in most restaurants I have eaten at. The gateau was not enjoyed and the Violet crumble and chocolate cake didn't have much violet crumble but the cookies and cream cheese cake was delicious. The Buondi coffee was very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive.

These apartments are great for a short stay. Everything was spotless and you could really tell that house keeping has a high attention to detail.

The only thing I will fault is the bathroom - it was a rather odd setup, though I think this may be one of the rooms they have for disabled guests. The shower area certainly was accessible!

And the lime green swivel chairs? Awesome! If only I could squeeze them into my bag!

Room Tip: The in room dining menu is a splitting image of the pub style dining down stairs, just more expensiv...

The Colmslie was recommended by the company I was meeting with the next day as it was close to where they were located. I was a bit dubious when I looked it up on TA and saw it was attached to a tavern. However, my fears were ill founded as it was a terrific place to stay. The room was spacious, modern and well appointed. The bed was comfy and made for a good night's sleep and the parking was undercover and free. The staff were great. The dinner was pub style in a modern dining room and the breakfast, whilst not a huge choice was more than adequate. When next I'm in Brisbane for work, I'll definitely stay here again as it represents better value than the hotels in the city and it is only 10minutes from the CBD.

The apartments are good, the food is average for breakfast and the same for dinner, a place to stay but nothing that stood out, very average. This was a business trip with using the conference facilities.
