I made a lunch time booking for 10 people about 2 weeks prior to the date. I received a text a couple of days before the booking asking me to confirm the booking by text or ring if I wanted to cancel. I confirmed the booking by text the day before. It annoyed me therefore that we were kept waiting in the side bar for almost one hour whilst they "prepared the table". Presumably, this was to pick up extra income in pre-lunch drinks orders. The restaurant was half empty yet still the table prepared was at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen door. Guests ordered their meal and their own side dishes, but the waiter doubled the side order dishes and spread them across the table for all to share when the majority on the table didn,t want the additional sides. Lunches arrived at different times. Though beautifully presented, my own meal was cold. Our waiter was friendly and the petit fours served with coffee were delightful, but overall the experience was less than average and fell well short of expectations. Here are 10 guests (and friends) who dine out regularly that won,t be booking Aria again.
