Description: ARIA Brisbane, located on the Eagle Street Pier, provides the quintessential Brisbane dining experience, with striking views from the restaurant of the Brisbane River. Owned by chef Matt Moran and restaurateur, Peter Sullivan, ARIA boasts a well-balanced seasonal menu, featuring local and Australian produce and an award winning wine list, served in an elegant dining room with stunning views. "If it's fine dining you seek, in a split-level expanse of understated elegance that affords sweeping city views, this sibling to Matt Moran's southern star ticks the boxes. Add a stellar cellar selection, with a thoughtful nod to Queensland wineries, plus accomplished service and you've hit the right notes, particularly for corporates and lovers of occasion. There's obvious skill, attention to detail and quality produce on show from opening chords to final flourish. Succulent pork belly has perfect golden crackling, while plump duck dumplings, abalone and mushrooms swim in a Peking duck consomme. Kingfish baked in cedar bark has its wrapping set alight en route to the table, adding a welcome smokiness. Creamy custard tart alongside figs, apple slices and candied walnuts has real retro charm. A sweet farewell gift box of miniature macarons rounds out a night to remember." Gourmet Traveller Australia

“Amazing food you don't mind paying for”

There are some restaurants that when you get the bill you wonder what you paid for. Not Aria. You do have the usual minimalist approach to fine dining pursued here too but the richness and quality of the food ensure only the taste is rembered.

My menu for the night twice cooked sweet pork belly with green tomato, jalapeño and celery salad followed by Cedar wrapped Bass Grouper fillet with prawns, daikon and a bourbon and mustard glaze with Steamed broccolini with almonds and Truffle mash completed with a Black Forest chocolate délice with mascarpone sorbet, cherries and chocolate jelly accompanied by a few glasses of 2006 Giaconda Shiraz from the Warner Vineyard Beechworth.

“Great food, position and service”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Expensive but worth it. Apart from the metal structure outside partly spoiling the view pretty much perfect. Beautifully cooked food. Interesting combinations. Lovely amuse bouche. Extensive wine list but it would have been good to have more choice at the lower end of the scale from a European shocked at the local wine prices! Very professionally but not standoffish staff. Look forward to seeing if the one in Sydney is as good!

“Love love love this place....”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

My husband and I tried the winter tasting menu with wines. I really believe you have to have the wines as well as it adds to the whole experience (and it adds something a little special when it comes to the flavour of each dish). The service was impeccable and couldn't be faulted, the view was superb and the food was seriously delicious. Who knew you could do "that" with brussel sprouts so much so that my husband is still raving about the salad.

“Outstanding but....”
Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Top quality food, well presented with generally efficient service - at the top end of the price spectrum. The staff seemed slightly embarrassed I was dining alone though I suppose not many do so shouldn't be a downside for the vast majority. It took a while for the food menu to arrive and the broccoli was forgotten with the main so not quite perfect on the service but the food was cooked to perfection. Then again it needs to be at $120 AUD for 2 courses and a single glass of wine. But I'm a visitor and maybe out of touch with the going rates (and the pound dollar exchange rate doesn't do me any favours)
