“Best place to stay for the Valley!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at Mint Skyline on New Years Eve for one night, which is the second time we have stayed there. We booked the day before as a spur of the moment decision and they managed to slip us in! The location is second to none and has beautiful views of the Storey Bridge to Kangaroo Point and is situated on the Brisbane River. Just a short walk into the Valley and the CBD. Best location in Brisbane!

The rooms are very well appointed and luxurious! The staff are always very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back again and will have to stay in one of their sub penthouses!

We stayed at Mint Brisbane for one week during Christmas 2012. The one bedroom apartment was just great, and more spacious than we expected. Great aircon that could be operated individual in bedroom and in living-room, and a wonderful terrace. The flat was also well equipped, we even prepared a traditional Norwegian Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve in the apartment and had 2 guests.

Cleaning is up to you, but I noticed that we were provided with clean towels after 3-4 days.

Location is great, a short walk to the river bank walkway and access to the river-cat transport system, and walking distance to Queen Street.

Only thing we were disappointed about was the wifi. It is not free - as in most European hotels or flats. I found it not only expensive, but of very poor quality. It was falling out all the time, and I had to log in again every time I wanted to surf the net, and sometimes even during surfing.

But all in all we loved this flat, and next time in Brisbane we will certainly consider staying here again.

Room Tip: The higher up, the better view.......

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in October 2012. We arrived out of hours so had to ring for instructions, which included getting a code to open the secure cupboard at the front desk for our room key. We were not aware that we had to do this, but a friendly resident gave us the information about ringing and let us in the front door. We got our key and went up to our room on the 34th floor. We just had a studio room which was a bedroom, a small kitchen and a shower room, which also included a washer and tumble dryer. The whole of one wall in the bedroom was window so we did feel we were in a goldfish bowl, Our view was out across to another high rise block. We were not sure whether they were office or apartments. Anyway, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The place suited us for the two nights. We did feel that it was all very clinical and functional; everything white, uniform and a bit characterless. We hardly saw anyone else as we came and went. We felt it was a bit like the scene from a sci fi movie. Once outside of course, we were back in the colourful real world. The Mint was very close to the river and the boardwalk into the CBD. The jacaranda trees were in full bloom and made Brisbane look beautiful.

Room Tip: If you are planning to arrive out of normal hours, make sure you have a mobile phone with you so you...

Stayed here for three nights with my wife and daughter in a three bedroom apartment. Fantastically friendly and helpful front desk staff on arrival. Parked under the building for a nominal extra fee. The apartment was much more spacious than we had expected and quite high-end with fridge with icemaker, dishwasher etc. Very clean and tidy. Views out to the city and a little of the river. Big, comfortable bed and well equipped ensuite. The blinds in the bedroom were good at stopping people looking in but not the most brilliant at keeping the sunlight out in the morning. Wifi available at a reasonable cost. 10 minute walk into town along the river or down Queen Street. Small convenience store right next to the building. Only disappointments were that the pool and spa were not operating (i.e. the heating wasn't working) and that the dishwasher actually didn't wash dishes. If they got the maintenance schedules up to date I would stay here again.

We stayed in a 3 bed 2 bathroom apartment for two nights as a break from the drive between Sydney and Coolum. We were on the 19th floor and had bridge views plus a large balcony. We especially liked the full size kitchen and plenty of room for all the family. The location is great - just a short walk to the CBD or over to the Valley. Whilst the parking was $25 a night that's a bargain by Sydney standards. We found all the staff ( whether on Reception or over the phone) to be friendly and helpful. There is also a small supermarket down below or its a short walk over to Woolies. Only gripe would be the tiny TV in lounge and no TV in master bedroom but that's a minor one.

These apartments are really comfortable. We had a two bedroom apartment on the 27th floor (out of 45) which had an extremely well appointed kitchen/living room, two en-suite bathrooms, laundry room and a large balcony (where you can smoke if you want). Everything you could want is here. It is right in the centre of Brisbane next to the Storey Bridge with easy access to restaurants and shops. The drive from the airport was quite easy and took about 40 minutes. As mentioned by others the check-in desk closes at 6pm and I understand there is a procedure for getting keys after this time. When you approach the building there is nothing to indicate that it is The Mint other than the building number. The block is called the Skyline Apartments and it doesn't say Mint until you are inside. There is an underground Car Park but this costs AUS$25 per night. There is a small gym, a tiny outside pool and a steam room that was out of order when we were there. We really loved it.

booked this apartment through booking.com after done some research on this apartment. hassle free during check in..me and my friend are very satisfied with this apartment. the 3bedroom apartment is huge/spacious for us (7adults + 2 infants). the kitchen well equipped so does the laundry room. the beds are soooooo comfortable including the sofas.. great view frm the balcony, can see the brisbane river + story bridge + brisbane city.. the hotel location is walking distance frm central station and easy to go everywhere..

the only drawback is the toilet floor will get wet during/after shower bcoz it was partially covered with glass and there's no shower curtain or full glass door to cover the water frm spill out frm shower area.

however, definitely will recommend to others and come back to this hotel despite of the drawback!!

Room Tip: request for higher floor so that you can have better view ( there's few apartment/hotel nearby)
