“unfriendly service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

We walked in at 1050 and found breakfast menus on every table and were looking forward to a nice late breakfast. When we decided what we wanted, we went to the cashier only to be told that breakfast finishes at 1100am. The time was 1102am. The cashier snatched the menu from us and was not friendly at all. As a result , we walked out and will never go there again. The restaurant itself looked nice, such a shame about the poor poor service.

“A great find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

Brisbane is very well served for great coffee shops along the river bikepaths. My favourites are The Corner Store in Toowong, the Little Larder in New Farm and Poppy's in Little Stanley St, Southbank. There is usually a crowd of cyclists at each of these.

However there is a new kid on the block which hasn't been discovered by the lycra set yet - French Twist in the new apartment buildings at Newstead. This felt like eating in a fine home with it's comfortable lounge chairs, fine china, even rolled up rugs for a cool winter morning. The coffee was excellent and the breakfast menu included French brioche with poached spiced pears drizzled with hot chocolate and served with ice cream - so decadent, so delicious! Combine this with smooth service and views of the widest section of the Brisbane river and you have a great place to spend a relaxing hour or two. Get there before the rest of us cyclists discover it.

“fabulous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

I really loved the décor but not nearly as much as I loved there ham & cheese croissant with mustard followed by a Chocolate eclaire.
Our only issue was as cute as the table & chairs are there just isn't enough room on the tables for food & drinks

“Very pleasant for a sandwich, coffee and cake”

Value and fresh. Good quality young staff. Beautiful coffee cups, other places may not trust the customers with such fine china.

“Great way to spend Sunday afternoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2012

My sister took me to French Twist as a surprise. Wow! Almost too many scrumptious choices within the cake cabinet for one afternoon tea. The coffee was very good and served with a smile. The atmosphere was magical and I enjoyed the happy buzz of conversation going on about us. The decor is inspired, providing more than just a hot beverage... an experience! Thank you, sis....
