Grab a train IF you do not have a car ... Local architecture is worth the photograph. The beach has a lot of history and of course the bay is always to die for on a Brisbane clear day ..

I love the walk from the Shorncliffe pier to Sandgate it's a lovely brisk 20 min walk. If your looking for a beach here, you won't find it lol. It's more mud then sand to be honest. All in all, lovely scenery though.

I firmly believe the foreshore belongs to the community, so it's really great to see what has been done here. This is a great park along the beach, well set up for families with BBQ and toilet facilities and plenty of shady shelters (or rain shelters as we needed).

The parks are planted with plenty of native trees and there were many birds around, such as ibis, lorikeets, gulls, cormorants etc.

There is ample off-street car parking in 2 different locations, and there's a pathway all along the foreshore for walking, jogging or cycling. After hours has been considered, with plenty of lighting along the path. Nice looking beach has plenty of sand too. The only downside is that the pier is closed until the Council repairs it. It looks impressive so hopefully the repairs will happen quickly as I want to go back and explore some more.

I've been visiting Shorncliffe for over 60 years and many of the shady trees we enjoyed are thankfully still on its foreshore. The shark nets as such are gone and the picnic tables and surrounds much updated and improved and It is a much more pleasant and family friendly venue than in the early days but not really outstanding save for the preservation of the pier. Still a great place to spend a pleasant time with especially children in largely serene waters

Us to live near by. I could walk there every day. Rounding the point on low tide is great for exploring, my dog loves it. Locals are friendly, you're not far to walk to a nice little coffee shop. The pier is still under a big restoration, but it'll be great when it's complete
