Basic i can handle. You know, small room, no room service, no mini bar etc etc. Can do without all that. But, i expect my shower to not smell like a sewer - was so bad, i couldn't shower. I would expect my door to lock. I would expect the manager/owner whoever to be a little polite when i have to drag my luggage down 3 levels to ask them to please fix it - and one would expect, that for $89 a night, that if they knew that the door wasn't working - which i was told by the gentleman that they had been having problems with it - perhaps get it fixed. Just a suggestion. It broke again, after it was 'fixed' so to save upsetting them for a 3rd time, didn't leave my room to get a cool drink or cup of tea because there were no facilities in the room, and i could not ensure my door would lock. And i felt for the other guest who could not get his key after hours and was stuck outside because the check in system not work. Think i would have had a better stay at the airport. and will prob spend more money next time on somewhere at least comfortable and safe.
