Beautiful view and alfresco dining. Food is good honest and Greek...nothing pretentious. Have to say that service is OK, but could be a little better, by not having to ask for things and also by plates not being collected whilst others were eating.

We went to kapsali restaurant today and were a bit concerned at the start that the menu had changed. Well the food was delicious from the entree to desert I had the grilled haloumi and olives so much flavour, the lamb rack and the Aegean delights desert the baklava was the stand out. Bridget who attended our table was fantastic on such a busy day she mad sure the meals came out exactly as we had ordered them. This is a great place and the new menu is good value and yum.

Great location on balcony overlooking river. Food was nice but chef inflexible on menu - refused to add anchovies to a pizza!
Overall good

We have visited Kapsalis tavern many times over the years. Our latest visit was on Anzac Day 2014 for dinner. The decor has changed as well as the menu. The food was good and the staff were attentive. We were having our first course and in the middle of that we received our second course. It was very, very rushed. We ordered greek coffee, to my disgust the cups were half full. To top that the staff accidentally turned off the lights for a split second ( it was our cue to leave) I think. So we finished our coffee ( what was in the cup) and a staff member came to our table with our bill and she said that they were closing at 9pm being a public holiday. My husband was waiting to pay for our bill and the staff member said to him sorry to hurry you out but we have to pay a lot of wages. Needless to say we will not be going back there. The old owners have gone and so is the atmosphere and the souvlakia.

Food is Mediterranean, primarily Greek and quite good. Although I don't think it is expensive, I think it is a little over-priced for what it offers. Service is fairly good. We visited on a Saturday night and there was live music, again Greek. Sometimes they have a belly dancer, who is excellent.
