“Public transport for a city sightseeing tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

This is primarily used by the locals for public transport to and from the city. Great way to get in and out of the city with cross river ferries connecting to both side of the river.

Nice just for a ride to have a look at the city from a different perspective.

“A day on the City Cat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

No better way to experience the riverside of Brisbane than traveling up and down by City Cat, which is the most fun public transport I've ever been on. When we are in Brizzy, we often spend a day, dawdling up and down the river, hopping off to have lunch at the Pig and Whistle, or visiting GOMA an excellent free museum at South Bank. The vessels are in tip top shape, the crews friendly and there's lots to see. Name any other city, where you'd spend a whole day bopping around on public transport for fun!

“Getting around Brisbane”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Ever since the City Cats started on the Brisbane River, it has made a huge difference to Brisbane. Not only can you get from one part of the city to another, they are great just to ride on and see the scenery. There are many places on both sides of the river, travelling between the upper reaches at Queensland University and down to where Brett's Wharf used to be. They arrive regularly and are usually on time.
You can usually use your Go Card, available at Newsagents and other places such as 7 Elevens and some garages. This card allows you to travel on buses, trains and ferries, so if you are visiting the city, it is well worth getting one with about $20 credit even if you are only here for a short time.

“Do this even if your time and budget are not short”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Certainly do the City Cat trip on the Brisbane River when time is short, but do it anyway especially for first time visitors. The best way to get acquainted with the city in the shortest time. Get on and off as required to include a stroll through the South Bank park lands- do lunch while you are there.
If you have a longish Brisbane airport stopover try traveling by train into the city then hop on to the City Cat.

“A brilliant way to see Brisbane”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

If you enjoy travelling on water Brisbane's fleet of CityCats is a great way to see a lot of Brisbane that you can't see in any other way. I recommend travelling all the way from tge University to Queensland down to the end of the line in Hamilton.

Of course you can get off the CityCat at interesting locations like UQ, West End, South Bank, the city centre and New Farm Park to mention a few. The river is interesting because it winds its way through Brisbane like a snake. You never know what's ahead until you turn the bend in the river.
