So this was about business. Not in the room too much. Location great with lots of food choices close by. Clean place with nice staff. The pool and gym were not acceptable when I neede them. Worthwhile for price.

The Central west end apartments are a good budget place to stay, the location is great if you want to visit Southbank, West End, QPAC etc. Lots of great restaurants, bars and cafes within walking distance. The room itself was neat, clean and tidy. Yes it's starting to show signs of age, but for the price it's hard to go wrong here.

I Decided to take my elderly Mother on a short trip to Brisbane recently and chose these apartments for the fact they had two seperate Bedrooms. We stayed four nights. I can't remember what the actual name of the room was called but was quite impressed by the ammenities. The kitchen contained all that many consider essentials. The bathroom included a washing machine and Dryer and was very clean. The lounge room was very nice with nice chairs and lounge and dining table. We also had a balcony with a table and chairs. I did find it difficult to locate at first things such as pots and pans etc. They did give you a small supply of dishwashing liquid and washing detergent etc. I didn't have much dealing with the staff only at our arrival and departure. The staff were quite friendly, and seemed they would be helpful if required. It was our first time to Brisbane so it helped to have nice accomodation. The apartments are very handy to public transport to Brisbane city and in reasonable walking distance if you prefer to walk. There were quite nice views of the surrounding area also

We have been staying here once a year few years now but if it wasn't for the location, we'd probably try something else. This place is getting a bit tired - my shower head connection completely blew off from the water pressure on the Friday night and as it was coming up to a week-end, nothing could be done to rectify it until Monday. Luckily we were in a 2 bedroom apartment or else we wouldn't have been able to shower. The layout of the kitchen - lounge has not had any thought put into it. If you are cooking/washing dishes you can't watch the TV. Likewise, the fridge door opens the wrong way to be totally serviceable, but I'm just nitpicking. However as we travel a lot for business it's these little things that impress us as it shows thought has gone into making a place a "home away from home".
Also, don't expect a sleep-in. There is a massive building site at the back of the apartment block where construction works commence at 6:30am and don't stop until 6:30pm six days a week. This means you can't leave the balcony door open for very long as everything gets covered with a fine dust and the noise is horrendous. Luckily we were out for most of the day but we would have appreciated a bit of a lie-in.

These apartments are in a great location and the one we had was more than big enough for 3 adults and our two children. Unfortunately that's all they have going for them... We had a couple of special requests (extra bed, late check-in) and we made a number of attempts to contact reception prior to arriving, and no one got back to us. We were in one of the rooms that is not refurbished and even though it was clean everything looked very shabby. One of the lifts was making a terrible noise all day and despite repeated requests to shut it down, they didn't respond until 9pm. It was then out of order for 3 days! The service wasn't great, a bit impersonal and rude but if you don't mind that then it's not a bad place to base yourself for a few days.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the refurbished rooms away from Melbourne St as it can be quite noisy on that side of...

Upon arriving at the Central Apartments there was a sign on the door to use the other door. So we went to the other door, the reception service man came over and pointed to the door that we were at with the sign and said "read the sign."
I didn't say anything but this is the second time I've found the staff at the apartments to be a bit rude; so when another couple came and were about to do the same thing, I got the sign and changed it to the proper door and opened it for them.

Second time back for us within the the last year again in a 1 bedroom apartment. And, this time we had a better view, as our balcony faced North West this time so we had a great view of the city.

The rooms are basic, but clean, have a few bits and pieces in the mini bar, but there's a convenience store downstairs so easy to just walk down and get what you need.

Bed is comfortable, not too soft, maybe a bit on the firm side for some people.

Each apartment has washer/dryer which would come in handy for longer stays.

Bathrooms are clean on the surface. There are some mould spots but in general the cleanliness of the bathroom is of a reasonable standard (I still carry my mould spray just in case).

We keep coming back due to the location, it's handy if you are planning a night out drinking or seeing a gig at the hifi bar.

These are clean and the price is good value in my opinion.

I still think the staff let the apartments down. When you ask a question it feels like you are an annoyance to them. They are pleasant and efficient but I still feel that I wouldn't want to ring and ask reception something as it might upset them. That's the feeling I get from the reception staff. Hence why we wouldn't ring up for the wifi password when we couldn't get it to work.

Staff aside, we would still stay here again.

Stayed on a Sunday night with husband and son on a visit to Brisbane for a uni open day. Very handy to West End eateries, walking distance to Southbank and across to the city - a decent walk but enjoyable.
Reception was efficient but not warm. Two bedroom apartment No 222 was on the second floor and not yet refurbished but the carpet was reasonably new as was the paint job. Our credit card was charged $179.66 which was an odd amount considering we were quoted $177 for a Saturday night initially then changed our booking and expected a cheaper rate for the Sunday.
Nevertheless it was a very comfortable stay. Kitchen had everything you needed for a quick trip to the city. Main bedroom had a door to the bathroom as well as a little walk in robe. Some features: balcony had outdoor setting with two chairs, second bedroom had a single bed and a good sized desk with a door opening on to the balcony. Washer, dryer and laundry sink in one end of the bathroom. Older style shower over bath that looked a little tired but the shower was fabulous with stacks of pressure and hot water. Must state the shower was fabulous for me - at not much over 5 feet tall. My 'over six foot' son had to hunch.
Full sized fridge, mini bar bits and pieces - no free bikkies though to have with a cuppa. There was a lovely Kez's cookie for sale however. Air con and wall mount TV with Foxtel, free wifi internet, crisp sheets. Only one mirror - in the bathroom. Lounge was very comfortable and dining setting was good as well. The undercover security parking was no good to us as the height limit was 1.9m so we parked in the street. Car was fine though and we had it moved before charges started on Monday morning. All in all a good stay and we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask which rooms have already had the refurb
