“Mt Coot-tha lookout”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

I would go visit Mt Cootha lookout during the day probably after lunch. Then I would go visit Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens ,have a look at the Bonsai and the rest of the gardens. Then I would go back to the lookout for the night lights.

“Twinkle Twinkle Little Lights”

The view was really breathtaking with the night lights from the city. But the parking was insufficient. It is a little chilly going up at night.

“One of those things you "must do" in Brisbane”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Whilst Brisbane is somewhat of a hilly city it does not have many locations where you can get a really good view. The lookout here is one of the few.

The lookout is easily accessible by car and public transport (though not as frequent as some overseas visitors may be used to, I believe).

Day or night. Both are good times to visit. Bring a jumper on winter nights especially. It can get cold up there. Hard to believe, I know.

“Really?”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

I’m sorry, but this is NOT a five-star attraction! Sure it’s a pleasant-enough 10min diversion, but it’s a little embarrassing (and erroneous) to have this ranked as the 11th best attraction in Brisbane.

Brisbane is a city best experienced up-close --- the views from Mount Coot-tha are “good” (i.e. you can see a long way) but what are you looking at? A tiny little blip of a CBD and some trees? Get down off that hill and get *into* the city to really experience everything Brissie has to offer.
