By and large this place does the job and I regularly use it for business stays since it is near to the CBD and all the riverside restaurants. There is a reasonable amount of room and having the sitting area and kitchen as well as the bedroom space makes a big difference for longer stays. However there were signs that a few standards are slipping here, the pronounced mould around the bath in Room 95 was a disappointment when otherwise the suite is kept to high standards of cleanliness. There didn't seem to be any room service in the week I stayed there either so the kitchen was left dirty and the bed unmade not that this caused me any big issues. I will stay here again but I'd like to see the Oaks up their game a little.

Room Tip: High floors overlooking the Brisbane River have great views of the city.

The views from this place are very nice. We had an apartment that looked out over the Brisbane River and Story Bridge. However...we were not 100% impressed with the hotel, mostly due to minor issues.

Someone said there was heaps of parking in a review, however we found the opposite. You have to drive from level to level searching for the little blue signs. It took us 10 minutes one afternoon as the layout of the carpark means there is lots of reversing to check all the parks for the sign. I really think a better system needs to be implemented as it was very frustrating.

I found the Pay TV to be just as annoying. The system is completley separate from the TV. Our remote didn't work which meant we had to stand by the TV to change the channels. Making it even more annoying was the fact that there are minimal channels available and we had to scan through everyone each time we wanted to change. Staff at reception were not very helpful with the situation.

The bathroom needs a major clean as there was mould in the shower and the drains were clogged. The bath would fill when we were showering - again frustrating.

The beds were supposed to be King size?? More like double beds...

Security is good as you can't get in without a pass. Location is very central - only two blocks to Queen St Mall and right near Eagle St Pier.

We had a nice stay, but will probably consider other apartments before this one again.

This is a real quality apartment with superb views and very good location but the entry and car parking let the entire place down. The Car park is not on Queen Street but round the back of the hotel however, there is nothing to explain this when you book. There is no legal street parking and a confusing visitor parking area in a tow away zone! Once you establish that the drop off is around the back it's impossible to gain entry to the building without going round to the main entrance - all of this adding to the frustration of arriving during peak time traffic.
The staff seem to be aware of this but don't appear to be bothered and assume that you should know about the parking?

Once you are checked in you will receive a pass, key and swipe card for car park entry where you can only park in a space with a blue Oaks Aurora sign. We did this every evening at $15 per day yet still found a sign on the car one morning saying this car is parked illegally! When we told reception they claimed that someone must have taken it from their car and placed it on ours!!!

The staff are a mixed bag and range between really good and couldn't care less! We asked one chap on reception where the Captain Cook bridge was and he said he had never heard of it!!

Location is brilliant - just at the end of Queen Street so just a few minutes walk from the main shopping area and across the street from Eagle Street Pier where you can pick up the city cat ferry for a cruise along the river. There are shops and restaurants opposite, a Woolworths supermarket 5 minutes walk away and a 7/11 downstairs.

We were on the 42nd floor and had a great view of the river and Storey Bridge. There is a balcony and table for al fresco dining and a pool on the 7th floor.

The apartment was well appointed with a good kitchen area, bedroom was a little small and we would have preferred ceiling fans instead of just the air con but it served it's purpose.
There was Foxtel but only 2 channels worked and the reception said it was down to each individual apartment owner how many channels were active! It wasn't a problem as we didn't travel all the way to Brisbane to sit and watch TV but, again, the attitude was slightly disappointing.

We had paid the extra for an executive room and it was in very good condition. Had the parking not been such an issue we would have rated the place higher but, overall, I don't think we would stay there again.

Room Tip: High floor with river view

Fabulous inner city location near Eagle St Pier and Queen St Mall. Very friendly and helpful staff, heaps of parking, beautiful new room overlooking the Storey Bridge with a fabulous entertaining size balcony.
Pool facilities are fantastic with great sun coverage through the middle of the day. Gym was a little small but had everything.
I have earmarked this hotel as our default now for any future trips to Brisbane.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor to overlook the river and Story Bridge if possible

I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with my family for 2 nights over the weekend. When we first arrived the car parking, as well as the entry into the hotel was very confusing as you need to scan something to get through the doors or call reception to let you, except the phone didn't work so we just waited for someone else to go through. Check in was smooth, and when we arrived at our room we were nicely surprised of the space, the balcony, and the views, Although I wouldn't call the beds king sized, they were still comfortable. Everything was going nicely until I went to have a shower and found the bathmat had something on it, so I took it down to reception and the issue was happily resolved by the lovely Scottish girl. I was also told the contract with the laundromat ends in a week, so something like that should never happen again. This would be one of the nicer rooms I've stayed in in Brisbane, and would happily stay here again and I would also recommend it to others.

We arrived on the afternoon of Riverfire- warning to everyone- try to avoid this at all costs. The elevators were all shut down at 3pm and were run by security guards who didn't know how to operate the lifts until 9pm. A single trip from reception to 25th floor took family members over 20 minutes and with family scattered throughout the floors it took ages for everyone to check in and settle into their rooms because of this. My daughter came to visit, but only guests were permitted by security to enter the building and wrist bands had to be worn in order to gain entry/exit to the building, luckily I sorted this out after going through the elevator procedure to escort her into the building.
The staff at the front desk were generally helpful and obliging.
The rooms were neat and comfy but small. Our room had a great view of the ventilation systems of all the neighbouring buildings. My sister had a room with a better view of the Story Bridge which was excellent on Riverfire night.
Generally it was a comfortable and convenient place to stay aside from the security and lift debacle.
I would recommend to visit again and itend to do so- just not on Rivefire night.

Room Tip: Ask for riverside.

We appreciate your comments about your stay with us at Oaks Aurora.

The Brisbane River fire is a significantly large event held in Brisbane and as such all of Brisbane is bustling with people from all over to ensure they get prime accommodation and views to watch the spectacular night fireworks and enjoy the festivities during the day.

As you have mentioned there is tight security during these times to ensure our properties are kept safe and that only residents and or guests staying at the property are permitted into the building.

We do hope you will return to Oaks Aurora again very soon.

This is a very comfortable apartment hotel in a very central location in Brisbane CBD. 24 Hour reception and great views from apartments. Apartment had kitchen facilities and separate lounge area so great for longer stays. Amazing view from large balcony.
Highly recommended for either business or leisure travel.
The only downside was that I had trouble with the air-conditioning, but I believe there was a higher minimum temperature set for energy efficiency. Windows could be opened for fresh air.
