The wheel is situated on Brisbane's gorgeous South Bank and because of its central position allows good visibility of the city, the surrounding suburbs and the adjacent mountains.

We boarded The Wheel at around 6 pm and the view was fantastic. Along with air conditioning the unit also had running commentary of the surrounding area which was great for our out of town guest. It is a bit expensive ($15 per person) but the veiw made up for it

Pardon my lack of excitement after having also ridden the wheel of Surfers Paradise which is very similar and neither of which even surmount the height of the buildings in their surrounding area. Although it is probably a must do for those who have never ridden a ferris wheel of its size their are better views of Brisbane from some hotel rooms and business offices but none can compare to the breathtaking views from such as the "Singapore Flyer" or London Wheel or others that take you to around 3 times the height of our local wheels and above the height of most commercial buildings and which look down on majestic tourist attractions that are nowhere near as plentiful or spectacular here. However if Singapore, London or overseas is a bit too much and you want to take the kids for a really exciting ride do so at night when there is less traffic , more parking, lots and lots of lights and the Brisbane River looks more impressive

I am a real chicken and didnt want to go but I found this ride really enjoyable and surprisingly comfortable way of seeing the sites of Brisbane. The commentary was ok but perhaps a free map would have been great so you could find where the sites were. I did think the option of only a photo book of $35 was over priced, considering the price of the ride! Still, I am glad I did it, and now feel like I have seen Brisbane.

Lovely time spent with family on Mother's day. Surprisingly affordable and interesting to see the different perspective of Brisbane.
