It was like an episode of Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, and I was in that nightmare. The old guy who must be the owner hustled us. Waiter couldn't speak english so we actually couldn't convey all the problems we had, glasses were so dirty couldn't drink our water, items on the menu were not available, the chicken 'burger' was the most pathetic excuse for a burger I have ever seen. It was a couple of flat buns with 2grams of dry chicken inside and some sad looking melted cheese, it tasted like nothing and I am currently waiting for food poisoning to set in. How they expect people to ever come back is beyond me.

Don’t do it to yourself. The owner does NOT deserve your business!!

5 girlfriends and I stopped in for dinner:

1. FAULTS with every meal.
- Pasta was not made fresh and was flavourless.
- Duck and Porcini Sauce came straight for a PRE-PACKAGED container (and was a dead ringer for bolognaise).
- Big chunks of gristle in sauce.
- Pits left in pizza olives.
- Calamari was hard as rock.

After questioning the sauce and one of the girls asking for her money back, as she felt her portion to be inedible, we discovered the delights of the management:

2. The OWNER came to our table and:
- ACCOSTED the girl who wanted her money back.
- Was loud, THREATENING and downright RUDE.
- Accused us of knowing nothing about Italian cooking.
- Told us he cooked the sauce for 6 hrs!!! Which is why it came in a prepackaged container, I suppose…
- DISGUSTED, UPSET and feeling UNSAFE we requested he leave us alone, but he just kept on going…..only stopping when we threatened to walk away without paying.
- Banned us from returning…oh what a shame!

Want to have a good evening? I can’t emphasise enough:
AVOID this restaurant!!

Hi Kaylee, I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience dining out the other night. Please note that the restaurant you dined at was La Dolce Vita Cafe not La Dolce Vita Ristorante. We are separate eating places but lots people assume that we run under the one identity. I can assure you that our food is of the highest standard at La Dolce Vita Ristorante and we hope you come and dine with us one night. Warm reagrds La Dolce Vita Ritorante Staff

I would recommend no-one wastes their money or time on this establishment.

Recently, myself and 5 others decided to catch up at this restaurant for a leisurely meal. Our meals arrived at different times. Each meal had a fault:
- the calamari was cold and so 'hard' it was difficult to take a bite,
- the olives were not de-pitted on either of the pizzas, and
- the three dishes of 'duck and porcini mushroom with pumpkin ravioli', did not contain a single mushroom, and the 'ground duck' had a taste of beef. Also, there was a lump of hard gristle in one of these dishes. The dish was almost definitely a beef bolognaise.

This however turned out to be the least of our concerns.

Upon speaking with each other, we didnt want to appear to complain about everything, and decided to only complain about the calamari, and question the sauce on the pasta.
The calamari was quickly replaced with a pizza.
However the pasta sauce proved to be a contentious issue for the staff.
After numerous back and forth-ing with the wait staff, the waiter arrived with a 10L plastic container with a commercial sticker stating 'duck and porcini mushroom', and while shoving the contained on our table, announced the ingredients on the side label stated mushrooms and duck were included. The fact we were paying $20.00 per dish for it to be scooped from a 10L plastic container was quite disconcerting.
However, each of us decided we could not continue eating the meal, as it tasted so bad. A girl then decided to walk up to speak with the chef about the meal. Before this could happen, the owner arrived to let us know that we did not know what porcini mushrooms were, and that the restaurant imported them from tuscany and the sauce was slow cooked for 6 hours. What?!!?! Communication between staff is not a strong point at this restaurant, as after letting him know we had seen the tub it was bought in, he became very defensive.
After continuing to yell at us for complaining, and telling us we did not know what we were talking about, we asked him to please leave us alone at our table. This was because he was making us, a group of young ladies, feel very uncomfortable and threatened. He then responded that he did not care about paying customers, and it was his restaurant so we could not ask him to leave. We then informed him we would be leaving and asked for the bill, and stated we were very unhappy with this service. After this, he let us know that we all had a life ban (!?!?!?!) from the restaurant and would be printing photos from the CCTV.
We unhappily paid for the poor service, and un-eaten meals.
What was meant to be a great night catching up with friends, turned into a very uncomfortable, and frustrating event. Although, in hindsight - it is quite humorous to wonder how this restaurant is still open?

Went there for breakfast mid morning and sat right out the front. We were served quickly by a very polite waiter with menus. We ordered coffee and 2 breakfasts shortly after. Took around 10-15 minutes to be served good and around 5min for coffee, which I think is quite good since they were busy. Coffee was fantastic! And the food was very tasty too. Will defiantly return soon!
