the bistro has a great atmosphere and is in a fantastic location. the food is good, not amazing, and is a bit over priced. but still, great place to hang out and chill

We loved dining at James St Bistro. We found out about it from online reviews and were not disappointed at all. Excellent value for high standard and delicious food! Its our new favorite place for breakfast outside Sydney. Also, professional service. Highly recommend it!

This place is average at best, in the James street and valley area there are so many fantastic cafes so don't bother with this one. Its not bad but its competition are alot better.

Moroccan salad - whilst tasty, it was light on chicken and the basics of a salad is if the greens are wilting DON'T put them on a plate!!
Coffee was poor to say the least.
Place wasn't busy yet it took ages to pay the bill.

Four of us stopped here for a Sunday lunch and found the food to be excellent. The calamari was the best we have ever had and we order it often. We tried 4 different cakes and they were all very good albeit the size was a bit big and we couldn't finish our plates - a good complaint to have. Coffee was also very good.

Cost was $130 for 4 mains, deserts and coffee.

Staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere on a beautiful sunny and warm winter day was great. Would have no problem returning.
