We have been visiting this Restaurant for the past 10 years since arriving in Australia from the UK. It is the best Indian food we have tasted in Australia and we have tried plenty of places. We travel over an hour to eat at this Restaurant - it is that good. The service is excellent, the surroundings are very comfortable and pleasant and the food is absolutely fantastic. We would highly recommend The Spice Avenue. You definitely need to book a table as it is such a popular Restaurant to eat.

Read the reviews and just had to try this place. The atmosphere, the food, everything. The staff were very attentive to our needs, the food came out very quickly, it was delicious. Ordered the zalfrezzi with garlic naan bread. I highly recommend this place to anyone in brisbane. It's worth the drive out to birkdale! Khalil, from Calamvale.

Went as a group of 6 people to this very popular restaurant. The staff provided an excellent level of services throughout the evening. We had a good variety of dishes and I was able to try a few of them. All were excellent and the breads were delicious. Also had the Chapati's which I had not had before and they were delightful. Would recommend booking as this restaurant was quite busy.

Drove 60 minutes to the restaurant after reading the great reviews on TA. Ordered a few different dishes and naans. I found my chickpea and cheese curry ok. My husband found his lamb korma and dahl too sweet and couldn't finish it. The peshwari naan was just a plain naan with a sweet sauce drizzled over it. Overall nothing special. We prefer a more traditional, complex, less sweet curry. An average rating is being generous. It was also in the more expensive range for takeaway curry. We wont be eating there again :(

Dear Heather-scott T

Thankyou for taking the time to write a review & provide us with your valued feedback.
We are dissapointed to hear that you were not satisfied with your meals.
We do appreciate customers traveling the great distance to dine at our restaurant & this is all the more reason we make every effort to provide quality food & service.

We are a little puzzled with your comments however, you mentioned you found your chickpea & cheese curry to be ok, however there is no chickpea & cheese curry on our menu (unless you are mentioning two different dishes).
Your husband found his dhal & lamb korma too sweet, which is understandable in regards to the korma - as a british korma is supposed to be sweet, after reading the previous reviews on trip advisor you may have noticed this issue has already been highlighted with certain dishes (korma).
The dhal is a tarka dhall, which is moderately spiced, but far from sweet.
The menu is completely adjustable and each dish is cooked individually & can be cooked to your liking, should you order from the menu & not adjust the spice to your liking - the dishes are served medium-mild.
The peshwari nan, is not just a plain nan, it containes desicated coconut, ground almond, sultanas & cream, it is then drizzled with golden syrup. I can guarantee this as this is a family run restaurant & the chefs are the owners.
These comments are valued as feedback, but we unfortunately question if you actually dinned at the right restaurant.
The prices of the restaurant are on par with the good indian restaurants of Brisbane, infact we a slightly cheaper than the inner city restaurants.

We appreciate that our food may not suit the tastes of everyone & you clearly highlighted that you do prefer more traditional cooking methods. But we also noticed you reviewed another Indian Restaurant in Brisbane on the same day that you reviewed ours. We noticed the review to be a complete mirror review of the review you posted for us & highlighting similar points in their favour, therefore - as much as we value feedback we are forced to see this review as biased.

Kind Regards

This place is just amazing. All fresh food - non of that reheated rubbish.
Best Roti I've ever had. A family restaurant run with pride and it shows in the food and service.
Another visit will happen when I visit Brisbane again- If my daughter and son in law drive me there again!!
