“Tagalong Tours - Cairns to Cape York”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

My husband and I travelled with Paul Stafford from Tagalong Tours of Australia from Cairns to Cape York and back again in August 2012. We saw some of the most beautiful and interesting parts of this huge country of ours. We met some wonderful people and made some memories that will last us a lifetime. Paul is a wealth of information and being part of this tour ensured we got to see things others miss out on. Our group had experienced and novice drivers of 4WD vehicles and we all got to experience the OTT with confidence secure in the knowledge that if something went wrong we had all the assistance we needed. Some of the highlights of this trip for us were driving the Old Telegraph Track, Thursday Island, beautiful Elliot Falls, the Tip of Cape York and the breath taking rain forest in this area and Guurrbi Tours by Nugal-warra Elder at Cook Town to just name a few. You will not be disappointed if you do this tour.

“Cape York”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

Great end to a very long drive. Brisbane to the Cape via the old telegraph Track was tiring and long but to stand on the most northerly point of Australia main land was worth every bump and river crossing.

“Fishing Trip to Somerset”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We drove from Bamaga to Somerset through dirt road which was graded all the way to Loyaty Beach camping group but have to turn half way along to Somerset. The road became too sandy but because of four wheel drive we were able to get throught it. Visited Jardine's grave & others before head off to Flying Point for fishing.

“Off Road Adventure Safaris...Cape York Peninsular”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Recently enjoyed a 12 day camping trip to Cape York with ..Off Road Adventure Safaris. Everything was well thought out and made camping very comfortable with easy to erect tents and stretchers and all linen supplied. Mark was very obliging and nothing too much trouble .
Marks experience and expertise, as well as his knowledge of the Cape, the people, flora and fauna made you feel you were in good hands.
We were also treated regularly to …..”brought to you exclusively by” …..Off Road Adventure Safaris.
Would recommend Mark and Off Road Adventure Safaris for whatever trip you have in mind.

“Travelling by Cargo ship Cairns to Cape York”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

As stated in other reviews of the trip by cargo ship to Cape York, it is noisy. Really noisy. Even sleeping with earplugs the engine noise is still very loud especially on the lower deck. The cabins are clean, comfortable and adequately sized for a couple. The bathrooms were shared by 5 cabins on each side of the ship, but there were extra toilets up on the next deck. There was never an issue with these shared facilities. The food prepared by Pere is well prepared, varied and extremely tasty. Three hot meals a day, plus morning and afternoon tea. Dietry issues were catered for in my case, for which I was very grateful. Health and safety issues were clearly explained and taken seriously. Passengers may only leave and return to the ship at specified times. While loading and unloading is taking place passengers may not be on the wharf.
Entertainment....games, cards, DVD's, meeting and chatting with others, watching loading and unloading of the ship, watching the world pass by while on deck, sleeping, eating and most of all reading.
Tours.....Horn Island was reasonably interesting if you wish to know the WW2 history. We sat in the local pub and enjoyed the quiet (no engine noise)
Thursday Island...as it is always visited on a Sunday, everything in town is shut. Tour leader not too enthusiastic. Pleasant place to visit.
Seisia to the Tip of Aus. ...great tour, very thoughtful, professional guide (Kevin). Interesting, bone shaking at times and well worth the money. 700 metre walk to the "tip" involves quite a bit of climbing up and down rocks and hills. Seisia was a pleasant town. Jude was the ship's host and was extremely competent, friendly and always available to help and chat. Ship was about 18 hours late returning to Cairns, requiring another night on board. This happens sometimes I believe. A really interesting and worthwhile experience. For us, a once in a lifetimer,
