“Terrible experience, really poor service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

We decided to celebrate our engagement party with a wine tasting experience for our 50 guests, because of the beautiful location, and we thought, lovely people. But we were so disappointed about the quality of the service. The waitress didn't even explain anything, complained as we asked for an extra glass and had no smile on her face.
What a shame! It happened last weekend...So it is still quite fresh in our mind.
The day before, my fiancé and I decided to have an impromptu lunch there to check out the food. We were dressed casually but when we came in to ask to be seated the 'manager' looked at us up and down like we were dressed with rubbish bins bags and she put us outside where nobody could see us. Honestly, I felt really offended. I was wearing a black and really classic skirt and a dark grey top with black ballet shoes and my fiancé, shorts and (yes ok...) a grey singlet and a pair of thongs (he is Australian so what?) What was wrong with our outfits?
I was so upset that I could hardly eat... What an amazing 'Welcoming place' for our peaceful and relaxing Engagement weekend!!!
At no time they came to ask us if we were enjoying our food!
When we went to pay the bill I actually asked if there was a dress code there and the lady had this little sneaky smile, telling me 'No no... why?' and I explained...She knew what I was talking about!
We just paid also a wine and cheese tasting for 45 people before then so they should have been happy but most importantly they should never look at anyone the way they looked at us! That is really rude!
A place like that can't be recommended for a nice time because food doesn't make everything! You need friendly and efficient staff, care, and good foof and wine.

Don't go there unless they change their staff!
What a pity as it is a fantastic location!

I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough!! Took my sister and her husband and my husband there for a lunch in October. Fabulous food. Fabulous service! And fabulous wines! I even bought a bottle to take home. I suggestion is to try the corn fritters! Yum. When back in brisbane we will go and stay at the cottages.

I recently came here for lunch with my family and 90 year old grandmother. After an ok meal we ordered coffee. The coffees were burnt and undrinkable. We sent them back and told them not to worry which was fine. However they insisted on remaking it. The second coffees were equally as bad so we did not drink them. Which again was fine. We ended up spending over $400 on lunch and wine so we were extremely disappointed to hear staff bad mouthing my mother and grandmother when they thought we couldn't hear. Once it became apparent that we could hear them the staff pointed and laughed at us. We approached the manager about this unacceptable incident. The manager offered no apology or sympathy and obviously did not care at all. I would never go back here and strongly advise others to never visit either! Otherwise you risk being insulted and demeaned. Worst experience ever!!

After a magnificent experience at another winery the day before, the bar was set high and we had purchased a meal deal so to be fair maybe that was why this was not a stand out experience. The ambiance of the actual venue is lovely, open, airy and modern.

The meal was nice without being anything special, the scallops were ok but were overwhelmed by the vinaigrette in the salad, the steak was cooked well but it was just a regular steak, nothing special. The pumpkin mash and broccolini that came with it were superb though and were the favourite part of the meal for both of us. The service was fine.

We booked two weeks in advance for 6pm to enjoy the sunset. On arrival we were put on an inside table. Unfortunately, we were not able to change to any of the free tables with a view because those were reserved so I highly recommend asking for a table with a view if that's important to you.

It was nice but nothing special. Perhaps having the dessert would have made all the difference...

Purchased a meal deal with our friends and went along to check out the food so glad we did yum yum!!! Firstly, the views are breathtaking so going in day light is a bonus. The food was delicious all three courses and they cater very well for gluten free people. Reasonable choices of lamb, chicken, fish and steak all cooked to perfection too. Couldn't resist the deserts highly recommend the panacotta and cheese cake!!! Also if you like red wine you have to try their Shiraz it tastes very smooth. So glad you have another spreets voucher left as we are looking forward to going back, well worth the journey! Thanks guys for the great friendly service and compliments to the chefs!!!

Don't be fazed, but there is no ocean view at this winery unless you are in a helicopter! Nevertheless, it not only offers a drive through some of southern Queensland's best scenery, but the food and service are quite superb. It makes sense to pop into the Cellar Door first and have a 'liquid' introduction to some of their wines, by the way! We met friends halfway, they live in Ipswich and we on the Sunshine Coast, it made a perfect meeting place. It was a stinking hot day, 39 degrees and the idea of sitting outside was not really on the agenda, however, the cleverly designed deck ensures a wonderful cool through-breeze. Our food and wine were served very well, in fact, the service was notable in it's lack of intrusion to our 'event'. Impressive. We chose starters as main courses as lighter salad style foods did not really feature on the main course section, the warm scallop and shredded duck salad was superb, our fellow guests enjoyed their seared prawns and roasted duck respectively. Sizeable portions meant that desserts were really too much, but we gave in to one excellent Afogato and one shared 3 Cheese platter, which was splendid, ( and enormous!). This is not a cheap place to eat at any stretch of the imagination, make sure you specify whether you want the starter to be a starter or a main course, because the ordering appears to default to main course size.  The wine selection and pairing choices proved to be quite accurate. They were very busy on this day which was a good indicator, but some things were overloked such as the restrooms. But, definitely well worth the trip, oh, and incidentally, you do get a peek of the ocean on the old winding hilly road back to Caboolture!

I stayed here last year with my two teenage daughters. I chose the property, for its relatively isolated location, ensuring privacy, serenity and relaxation. Booking process was trouble free. Cottage accommodation was comfortable and modern. We chose to dine in, in the estates restaurant and whilst the menu appeared to be filed with interesting choices, ALL the food we ordered between us, was barely edible, though we paid top dollar for it. Service seemed friendly and helpful at this point. We had a restful nights sleep. The following morning, upon attempting to check out, not a soul was to be found. We scoured the entire area. There is no visible reception area, for guests who've stayed in accommodation on the property. The property either didn't offer breakfast or it just had not bothered to open. Either way, we left without the breakfast we wished to have or being able to speak with staff to check out. Providing feedback to this estate, drew no response at all. I won't be returning.
